i think milsap could beat boozer out of that starting position. boozer better be worried. he better not pull a fisher on us and leave town. i hear he's talking to the heat. working out with shaq and stuff.

Dwill?

What about D-Will? Is he at full strength? And who is going to start at the 2? These are the questions we want answered.

Hope Not

Milsap is good. Hopefully he will continue to get better... but he is no Boozer. Paul may have great potential, but Carlos is more proven.

Hopefully Boozer is just working out with members of the heat to stay in shape and play some ball.

Come back soon Boozer! Hope your son is recovering quickly.

Mike

Boozer is not working out with Miami. He'll be with the Jazz for a while. D-Will in great shape and he will have another excellent year. the starting 2 will probably be Brewer. Everyone seems to be really impressed with the progress that he's made.

Blade

Carlos will be fine! he is not pulling a Fisher, I would be upset if he left his son at this time.

What was Carlos thinking when he named the boy? that is the question (must have been Cici)

Millsap will not beat Boozer out of his spot. What are you thinking?

Aaron

Boozer and Fisher are two totally different stories. There is no way Booze would be dumb enough to negotiate with Miami. It is one thousand percent illegal to do so, and he can't trade himself. He is under contract, and I believe he wants to be here, especially after last year.

About Millsap, never say never. Boozer is pretty solid in the starting lineup, but I think Millsap has quite a future. Power forwards from Louisiana Tech tend to work out well here.

Get Real

As soon as Boozer returns and plays his first game here, any talk of Millsap taking his job will vanish.

Moto X

Booz was not an all-star until he played here in Sloans system. It is not like he is going to go to Miami while under contract with the Jazz anyway. Hypothetically, as long as Shaq is there then there is not really alot of room for Booz to operate there anyway. Hopefully Carlos will realize this system made him an allstar. D-Wayde is not the passer/assist man that D-Will is either. Booz seems like a good guy and wants to win and the Jazz are closer to doing that than Miami is.

He should be with his boy until he is more stable. If Booz is in as good as shape as they say then he and D-Will will pick up right where they left off last year. No harm done. It will actually be helpful for these other younger guys to get some extra reps. If we are short of anything it seems to be minutes to go around. Nice problem to have.

ID Jazz

I read that Boozers family stays in Miami year round. Just curious why he and his family would not want to be together when he is gone for seven months.

It's none of out business where Boozer is. As long as he is healthy. His son had a bone marrow transplant. HELLO! Wouldn't you be with your son if that happened to him. He'll be back. Patience! The Booz will be here in no time! :)

Didn't the GM of the Timberwolves get suspended for a year or two just for 'talking' to Joe Smith about his "possible interest in the future" of coming to Minn...Boozer doing that would knock Iraq off the front pages...Reilly et.al would get suspended and the global warming would get worse...

Kitty Cat

Its going to be hilarious watching Millsap own Yi and Bogut all night long. It really is.

Eventhough I'm outta the "loop" by not living in Utah, I wouldn't put it past Boozer talking to Miami. Isn't this the way that he left Cleveland... saying all the right things, then leaving? Milsap is not a Boozer right now, but I think he is in the making. What's the work on Almond? Is he looking like he might contribute even a little this year?

Almond Joy

Almond looked pretty good in summer league. He's got a great looking shot. He reminds me a little of Jeff Malone. There are 9 "guards" on the team. There will be a lot of competition for playing time. Hopefully Almond can hit his shot and play a little defense. Knowing Sloan, he'll play Hart (really a 1) at shooting guard. Another short 2-guard that is really a point guard that will get torched by the good 2s in the league. (Ala D-Fish). It'll be fun to watch the progression and how it unfolds, though.

Kansas Jazz Fan

Thanks for the info Almond Joy. Whe do they start the cuts for who makes it and who doesn't? I wonder how many guards will be left after its all said and done. I hope AK gets off to a good start. I have liked AK47 since he was drafted. I hope he finds a place on the team and contribute more. If he does, this team could be special.

Straight Facts

Minnesota was penalized for violating the collective bargaining agreement by coming to a verbal agreement with Joe Smith, their own player, during a period within which they could not negotiate with him. Cleveland tried to do the same thing with Boozer, and Boozer's agent said, "Do what you want, but here is what the collective bargaining agreement says," and read from it word for word, "No verbal agreements."

Boozer isn't working out with anyone in Miami -- Miami is in camp just like Utah is -- but if he WAS working out with Heat players prior to that, EVERYONE IN THE LEAGUE works out wherever they are, with whomever else is in that city. It is a common thing for NBA players to work out with players from different teams during the summer.
