Not all LDS hate Catholics | 12:52 p.m. Oct. 8, 2007

My family is Catholic and I think they are the best people I know. It bothers me that so many LDS people believe false things about that Church. Just because you don't believe a religion does not mean you shouldn't respect it. There are good - and bad - people in every faith, so please don't categorize people. It makes you sound ignorant.

I started reading the above comments and once it turned into a LDS vs. Gentile thing I stopped.

Most people would say I'm anti-mormon, although I think I'm mostly just an ex-mo, but I have to agree with the school on this one. If many students wouldn't be attending, why hold a dance? Yes, it's involving religion and in many ways shouldn't affect others, but this way EVERYONE could enjoy the dance.

There is no other state in America where religious division is so bitter and pronounced. I love Utah and have lived over the years in many different states and on both coasts. Bar none, Utah is the most divided state in the USA. It's a shame.

As an LDS member, I am ashamed by what so many of my brothers and sisters in the gospel have said here. I am sorry for thier comments. Heavenly Father must be so disappointed in all of those who have contributed (LDS or not) to all this hatred and unacceptance of each other. Especially over something of such small consequence compared to the very large things happening around the world today. Our country is rapidly falling apart because of mentallites such as these. There are so many other things much more worthy of our time and efforts.

Live with it people!!! Here in Arizona almost the whole 5A (biggest) conference had to change the varsity football games to thursday a couple of weeks ago because of Rosh Hashanah (Jewish new year). Everything got changed even though Judaism is not the predominant religion. Even at the schools that happen to have an LDS majority.

Changes DO happen for religious reasons at public schools. It's just that you don't hear about them much until some reporter decides to make it into an article.

You people who keep saying "if you don't like it, leave!", you tick me off. How ironic, wasn't this the sentiment we heard in Missouri? I am a Mormon, and I don't want people who disagree or are not part of the LDS faith to leave, and I hope the wing dings on here who say that will not have you think this is the majority of thought or feeling of the LDS.

Stop telling people to leave!!!!!! Grow up, open your mind, try on some different shoes and act like what you profess, a Christian.

The change in the Dance had nothing to do with because there are Mormon Student leaders in the High school because there are alson non-mormon leaders in the high school as well. The change was made because of listening to the student body, the reason they are elected, to listen to and meet the needs and wants of the students. Conference was the week of the original scheduling of the dance and the week before as Mr. Bushnell stated, was open. It turned out to be one of the most successful dances and everyone had fun. The only people who found a reason to complain were those who argued that it was a separation of church and state. Many people forget that the actually meaning of that is that the states don't endorse churches. The dance was fine the week before and the game was fine the week following. Complain, I don't see a reason to.

Leave Abby alone for voicing her opionion. Everyone has that right whether you agree with her or not. I saw no problem with it even if she did. Its a diffence of views, but thats no reason to bash on someone because they don't think the same way we do. What did that ever accomplish. We all need to take a deep breath, grow up, and stop all this hating. Mormons, Catholics, Baptists, Lutherans, etc. we are ALL CHILDREN OF GOD. Lets start acting like it even if our views are a little different. WWJD

Just a few things...
First off, I think its quite ridiculous for any parent to become "livid" over the rescheduling of a dance for any reason. Seriously! Getting LIVID over a rescheduling!? I hope she doesn't develop hypertension if she can fuel up that quickly over something so insignificant.
I seriously hope that the non-mormons in here aren't taking the few posts from the angry Mormons in here as the common opinion for all Mormons. There are over 12 million of us and a few comments from some aren't the opinion of all of us.
Happy Halloween everyone, and remember to repeat "Hakuna Matata" to yourselves if you find yourself becoming livid over the yellow paint lines in the road...

This article is really about a non-issue and I don't understand why people get so worked up.

A HIGH SCHOOL DANCE WAS RESCEDULED!

DOES THIS VIOLATE THE CONSTITUTION?

STOP THE PRESSES!!!

I am convinced the ability to chat on the internet, much like driving an automobile, brings out worst in people. I think I will call this phenomenon "BLOG RAGE" from hence forth and forever, or untill someone comes up with something better.

...and for all of you Latter-Day Saints angrilly posting on this board who think President Hinckley wasn't talking to you because he didn't use the phrase "blog rage" in the same sentance as the word "road rage" had better think again.
