Jerry will stay as long as Jerry wants, that piece of paper is just a formality.

Idiots will post as often as idiots like, only morons refer to themselves in the third person. (See Karl Malone) Also, if Jummy is actually employed, she is costing her company many dollars. So sad.

Don't know what to make of Sloan. he has one system and that's it. To me a coach needs to take the talent he has and make them gel into a winning machine. Instead, Sloan says this is the system find me players that will fit. Works fine for college ball or the Soviet Union Hockey Team but with the NBA egos and the free market economy, i am not sure a system looking for players to work well together within it is the best approach to securing a title. Again, the Jazz won't win a championship as long as they are in Utah unless Larry Miller gets a pass from the commish for just being a good guy.

Gretzky, I "sort of" agree with you about Sloan, but every team has departing and arriving players every year, although not every team trades for/away one or more starters every year... sometimes it might just be some of their reserves. If a coach and the staff would often have to change their offensive and defensive sets or other changes (more than just "tweaks" based on different lineups, etc.) it would be tough to maintain any continuity and would lead to more confusion. True, sometimes changes need to be made, although it might make things get worse for a while before things get better ("learning curve" for staff and players). BUT HERE'S THE BOTTOM LINE: For the last 19 seasons under coach Sloan, the Jazz averaged winning 3 out of every 5 games they played. Few teams and definitely few COACHES can claim that level of consistency and success. And when you say "the Jazz won't win a championship as long as they are in Utah..." well, they came close twice, and even though they are a small-market team, other "smalls" have done it (such as San Antonio). The Jazz have a solid young nucleus, and they are progressing.
