I developed pre-eclampsia & HELLP syndrome during my second pregnancy after having an uneventful first pregnancy. The doctor said this is really rare and it resulted in bed rest at home, then in the hospital and eventually premature birth of my son. Thankfully he is alright and so am I now but I wondered if it would be safe for me to attempt another pregnancy in the future. HELLP syndrome is dangerous for both mother and baby. My perinatologist said that after my first trimester he will put me on a low dose aspirin daily to see if that will help keep my BP down. Slightly different than this article but still a pretty neat idea. Don't know if it will work as I am not pregnant at this time but worth the try- especially if it means I can carry my next child to term and avoid having another preemie! I wish the very best to all the women in this study.
