It has been shown that any form of alcohol provides a heart benefit. For women this provides a conundrum. Women should look at their risks and the potential modification of each risk. A woman at low risk of breast cancer and high risk of heart disease may benefit from moderate alcohol consumption (1-2 drinks/day). A woman with a high risk of breast cancer should clearly consider abstaining.
The way to look at these risks is like this: if you have a 5% risk of something and the behavior can increase it by 10% your risk becomes 0.05 x 1.1 = 0.055 or 5.5%. If your risk was much lower the increase would be lower, if the risk was greater the increase would be greater. It can be difficult to know your risk category. Discuss your risk with your doctor.

If you don't want to drink then don't. No one is holding you down and pouring it down your throat. What I put into my mouth is NONE of your business.

I don't care about your donut consumption.
