A "systemic" problem/flaws? Perhaps NOW, the State of Utah can move to de-certify the elected "sheriff" of Daggett County, and then toss his mother-in-law (County Clerk) out of office as well.
Even in Daggett County, the people deserve better.

suttonhoo

Now the deputies will have to go into town and get the pizza themselves.

Amazied

I hope the Utah Sheriff's Association takes note. If Patterson decides to go after one sheriff what is to say he won't go after any other sheriff. This is not about the jail security of state inmates. It is about Patterson trying to deflect the attention form his own department's flawed policies which offer convicted murderers up to any jail which willing to take them. Patterson and his administration are getting good at pointing fingers at former corrections administrations and under paid and understaff sheriff departments. Huntsman needs to seriously reconsider his decision of appointing Patterson and hire someone who has a successful history of managing correctonal operations.

Amazing

Patterson

wake up

it is my understanding, that the sheriff that you are defending, chose these inmates from a list of many. He also had access to the same info as prison officals. now who is to blame for sending a murder to a county jail ???
the subject should be security or the lack of. The County tring to make a load of money from the state by cutting back on security, and pocketing the money.
If the money they were receiving would have went into additional officers pockets, all may have been avoided.
Putting far to many inmates into that facility, did not help, another sheriff mastake.
