To Educated? Literate?

Apparently you failed to realize that the subject was the ECUMENTICAL AUTHORITY of the RCC and not the ecclesiastical callings of the LDS. RCC Priests have ecumentical authority. LDS Scoutmasters DO NOT. Perhaps instead of placing red herrings you would do best to address the topic.

BTW have you a constructive comment on the topic or do you just slam other posts?
It's mine too | 12:55 p.m. Oct. 8, 2007
junie,
My tithes go to pay for your list of stuff, and also for a big boatload of aide that goes out whenever a disaster happens. I go to the temples, and enjoy the beauty. I walk Temple square, and attend functions at the conference center. I go to buildings for my meetings that are nice and well kept. My bishop is a humble man, who does not make a vast amount of cash in his profession, and makes zero as my bishop. I do not want my tithes to line the pockets of someone like Kelly Clark. It's my money too.

The really sad part about this, is that it is now "assumed" that if you are with youth of any age by yourself, then you are likely to be a pedifile.

This includes scoutmasters, sunday school teachers, bishops....anybody.

Why would anybody in their right mind want to volunteer their time and service, only to be accused of doing something wrong if they don't have another adult with them?

That's nuts.

Seems to me, that we should be punishing the guilty.

Scout'n For Lawyers... | 7:38 p.m. Nov. 6, 2007
Someone mentioned that the Mormon scouting program mainly helps people in Utah. Not true in my experience. My son went through scouting in Utah Valley and never went far or finished. We weren't helped much with trying to figure it out and he was our only son and were just as confused as he was not only in figuring it out, but trying to keep him interested and active with it..on our own basically...but in a ward. So..he quit. Now we live in the "missionfield" and are in a ward with a loving and encouraging scouting program that goes overboard to help the boys. Wish my son went through it here. People make it what it is wherever it is.

And..I always chuckle when I read about an obviously money-gluttonous attorney on the loose as I recall all the Biblical scriptures and what they say about lawyers. Funny how they were right on the money so long ago. And my husband was an attorney for years! He always said he "hated the politics and dishonesty". Thank goodness he doesn't practice anymore...
