I'm Glad nobody was hurt in this chase. But I see a major problem in telling everyone that the police are not allowed to chase them unless you have committed a felony. Are we asking our officers to be mind readers now. Do you not think this will get people to try and run more until the red tape is untied. Why must we bind the hands of our officers to keep them from doing the job we hired and expect them to do. Whether they get in a wreck or not it is still the fault of the person committing the crime for those who see the need to place blame. Do people really think someone as crazy as this guy would not just find something worse to do if they did not pursue him.

Is the Des News making a public announcement to all criminals in Taylorsville to just run when they encounter a cop, because officers are forbiden to chase them and apprehend them?
