Aquarium hopes to build in Sandy

Our family visited the preview exhibit in Sandy this past weekend, and we were WOWED by the whole presentation. We haven't had the chance to visit an aquarium since we lived in Virginia in 1996, and this looks like it will be world-class once it's fully funded and opened. This is an asset the State of Utah could really benefit from. If you haven't seen the preview exhibit, I suggest you check it out as soon as possible!

I agree with Rattler. We don't need it, there are better uses for our public money. Let this red herring die!!!

The aquarium in Sandy is so much more impressive then when it was in the Gateway. All that my kids want to do is go pet the stingrays. The people that won't support this project must not have any kids themselves. As for public monies, I hope that a smaller "price tag" means they will have more success raising the money for themselves. I can't donate to them, but I can't afford to take my family somewhere else - or even the ocean. I think that building an aquarium here in the desert is perfect for my family. Look how many golf courses you keep building here in Utah - especially St. George (you want to talk about a waste of water in the desert?).

If the right location is chosen, this will likely provide a great source of revenue for Sandy.

I would love for the aquarium to have a permanent home in Sandy--tremendous asset to Sandy and a wonderful way for children to learn about marine life.

I was very impressed with the aquarium and would love to see more support from Salt Lake City and form private donors. I was impressed by the presentation on the aquariums in Georgia and I agree that an aquarium is a very special way to both entertain and educate a community. I would love to see some larger scale plans go forward.

the Tour is free and open to the public, It is a parade of homes style tour, we have tanks ranging from 5 to over 500 gallons.
