Either find a way get maximum production out of Lynx within the team concept (teach Sloan how to coach) or ship him out.

It would be a dream to get a player like marion for a guy who did nothing for us last year. I would take expiring contracts, but if they have the chance to get marion and they don't, then the Jazz are really missing an opportunity

CAE

Umm no, what makes you think marion would put up even close to the numbers he does in phoenix? its all about the system, Marion would hurt the jazz more in the long run then help. just keep AK. and keep marion out of utah, hes a system player.

arc

one of the most painful "interviews" I have ever watched. Tom Kirkland's harassment session that was hours long was cut to about 20 min. on KSL. It should have been 4 minutes. AK doesn't want a repeat of last year, had recent success and doesn't know what to do different that he did last year. We need to see the coach step up on this one, and KSL needs to find out if it was Tom Kirkland or some production editor that caused the painful airing. It it was Tom Kirkland, he should be traded to somewhere outside of Utah.
:(

Not the answer

Marion is not the answer. He will find something to be unhappy about, like playing for a hard-headed coach like Jerry Sloan. A coach who has a specific system. A system that works if the players work the system. Unlike in Phoenix. Granted, Marion is a good player, but he is not going to make the Jazz a championship team by himself.

Marion Doubter

If Marion is unhappy playing with Steve Nash in a free-for-all system, he will not like the confines of the Utah System. Most players are dying to play with Nash. To me it's a huge red flag that he is unhappy in a place and system most players would love to play in.

Jimmy Sneakers

Jimmy loves Andrei, hope Andrei will stay. Jimmy thinks Sloan is too heavy handed at times. Jimmy works at newpaper company, has to go now.

Hey AK, buck up dude. There are days I don't really like my boss either and I am only getting paid $65,000/year to do it unlike you where you are getting $63 million. Don't whine that you have a bad job and play for a bad boss when you get to do what you love and get paid way, way, way to much to do it. Toughen up and be a man!!!

I get so tired of pro athletes such as AK who whine over their situtation and even cry over it. There are a lot of people in life that are in much more pressure packed situations than he is...

Grow up AK!!!!!!! I used to be a huge fan of you until you pulled off this little fiasco!!!

ME

Marion is unhappy because the Suns are not extending his contract. It has nothing to do with the system or playing with Nash.

DWP

Bench AK until he wises up (next four years if need be)--he has no perspective of what a bad job is. Try going to work 40 or more hours a week to a job you don't like AND that only pays you a small fraction of what AK makes. Sure, benching him will waste his talent and hurt his next contract--but that's what babies need... a good/lengthy time to think about the complete irrationality and stupidity of their actions!

mike

He can't take Sloan being a meanie. waaaaaa

Jimmy, are you Karl Malone is disguise?

I have not heard 3rd person self reference since Karl did a complete 360.

A Fan

Put AK in the development league for a year. He could be the star. Better yet, give him a sabbatical to teach Russian at one of our high schools at a teacher's entry level salary. I'm sure after this experience he would appreciate playing for Sloan and the Jazz and would STOP his whining.

the interview was bad

arc, i was well thought the interview was terrible. Way to long with repeat after repeat. How many times does andrei have to say the same think before Kirkland moves on? Andrei doesn't like coach sloan's style. End of story, move on, and maybe show some other sports highlights. Baseball and other sports still exist. Andrei Kirilenko is not the only person in the world and certainly not the only one who doesn't like his coach.

Rich

I liked Kirkland's interview. Thought he was fair but thorough. I didn't change the channel and got in a 20-minute workout on the treadmill. Andrei is all about me, me, me. The team is not important. The team's success is not important. What is important is Andrei and how he feels. Sloan is foul-mouthed as are many other great coaches such as Rick Majerus. Sloan has a right to be negative about AK's terrible play -- lazy at times, too many turnovers, unwillingness to let better shooters and better ball handlers do their job, poor outside shooting, often completely outside the offense, etc. I would let AK go if the Jazz can free up that money for a couple of good journeymen and save some cash to keep Boozer and Williams when their contracts get near to expiring.

Bill from South Dakota

Andrei needs to stop the whining and play NBA ball. If he can't shoot and he can't handle the ball why is he even in the league? Did the Jazz get snookered?

The Voice of Reason

It all comes down to one thing, Andrei's poor shooting. If he was able to make shots consistently, he would have an integral role in the offensive package. How can Andrei complain when he misses so many shots? It kills us. Andrei should be looking at himself first. Stay after practice and work on your shot. Why is the media/Jazz management not saying this? I do not want to lose Andrei. We are already weak defensively in the post. He helps out there. He can do a lot for the Jazz when motivated. C'mon Andrei, we want you in a Jazz uni and we want you playing well!

rockdog

I like to watch AK play i don't think we would of went passed the first round if not for AK defence. I also think Sloan is a great coach. The Jazz are better off with both of them here. I think all AK want from Sloan is a little respect and all Sloan want from AK is hard work. LETS MAKE THIS WORK FOR THE JAZZ FANS. Last year was great, the jazz team is great love to watch them please keep it going

Anonymous

the jazz are better off if ak and sloan both stay

BB

I agree...let the whiner go and free up the cash. Insert Harpring, Milsap and Brewer to take his minutes. We don't need his negative influence.

seriously. bench AK. or throw him into the d-league. our russian friend feels entitled, as though his talent as an athlete and exposure grants him the rights to dictate every term of his employment. hey AK, you grandparents lived on crappy farms on the Steppes. feel fortunate you don't have to and get over yourself. go to Africa where grown men with families feel incredibly fortunate to make $2 a day and die when they're 45 years old. sack up, you whining baby, you're living a dream and you're complaining about it. go play the game you love and give the crying a rest. no one feels bad for you, and the more you whine, the more Jerry's mental picture of you as a little girl takes form.
