Isn't it just amazing how much aid and how often the Church provides to people around the world regardless of race, ethnicity or religion and how little they are recognized by the mainstream media...??
I THINK IT IS WONDERFUL, HOW MANY TIMES OUR CHURCH ANSWERS THE CALL,OUR HEAVENLY FATHER HAS TRULY BLESSED US ALL FOR WHAT OUR CHURCH TEACHES US AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,HOW WE PRACTICE WHAT WE ARE TAUGHT
TO LOVE AND CARE FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS NO MATTER WHAT THE CASE,THAT I AM SURE MAKES JESUS CHRIST VERY HAPPY,SEEING THE PEOPLE COME TOGETHER IN AN HOUR OF NEED
I was in Pisco Aug 16th and again a couple days later. The people do need assistance. Glad to see the Church is there to help. It is a very humbling experience to be able to help those in need. It is nice to see people helping people. After all we are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father
I am so thrilled how the LDS Church responded so quickly helping our brothers and sisters in Peru without race, color or religion frontier.
I am originally from Peru and lived in Pisco for 4 years. I was very melancholic and saddened so see on TV the desvastation caused by the earthquake. One of my aunts, and two cousins lost their houses in Pisco. Eventhough they are not LDS, but my aunt and her family were assisted temporally by LDS members in Pisco.
She told me that she was surprised that most Catholic Churches collapsed and suffered huge cracks on their buildings, but the Mormon Churches remained intact.
We have been praying and thinking of the people in Pisco and also LDS members there. We have been trying to help some of my relatives in Pisco as well, but there is much help and support needed there for the rest of the people in Pisco.
We really thank the LDS church for showing compassion, mercy and promptiness to aid the Peruvian people.
Most cordially,
Guillermo
A few years ago when my son was a missionary in Florida, he wrote that a Baptist Church had picketed and passed out pamphlets to keep the LDS Church from building directly across the street. However, permits were obtained and it was built. A hurricane came through during my son's mission and flattened the Baptist church and left the LDS Church alone. In a true exhibit of Christlike love, our members and missionaries helped them clear away the debris and rebuild their church. It is interesting how the LDS Church not only helps people in times of hurricanes or earthquakes, but helps them build/rebuild their churches too.
I am with the D.C. 3rd. ward in Washington, D.C. I am proud to say that I've received a lot of support
and love from people that I once disliked because of false rumors and ignorance and to say for performance wise ,they have been over 100% true.
They have their faults and are human and I just want
to say thank you once again. The CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF Latter DAY SAINTS is still the true church.
I'm so happy about the help church alwasy offer ti need people!!!!! I'm from peru , from ica , and I know withouth any doubt the church is amazing helping people out!!!!!!
My Son is currently serving his mission in Peru. He was in Lima at the CCM when it hit. Fortunately, the CCM was not damaged and no one was hurt. With all that's happened there, the LDS church sends more supplies than any other denomination of Christianity. Why? Because the Lord loves all of his children.
Before I was Baptized into the Church I had no idea how much the LDS Church did worldwide for disaster victims. Up until the age of 42, I had the same false information about the Church that many still have today. I am so grateful to my wife and the missionaries for their patience with me and for teaching me the truth about the Church. I know this is the true Church of Jesus Christ.
