Hope they can fix the situation about AK47before the season start, either keep him or in case they trade him... hopefully trade him to matrix.

No one seemed to have a problem with AK when his was an all star and the 1st option. Matrix is a product of the system he is in. In a structures system like the Jazz, he will struggle with his ugly and inconsistent shot.

Can't be good season. Once Jazz run stokton-malone again they don't need star player just supporting cast. That is reason all this AK situation. But stocton and Malone were good defensive too. Booz and DWill not even close. And the end like before hard be win championship. Trade Ak or it will bring more distraction.

ya whatever!! | 11:43 a.m. Sept. 29, 2007
I really dont see the whole shawn Marion thing coming to Utah, working out this season, but to tell the truth the problem with the Jazz right now is not the whole AK situation its our shooting guard problem! AKA GORDON Giricek!! Why have we kept him this long? I really love our backups CJ, Almond and even Brewer, Jerry Sloan wake up its their time now!!

Keep AK unless it makes sense for the Jazz to trade him. Deron and Booze have gotten better every year at D. The Jazz will be just fine this year and Sloan knows what he is doing. Let AK sit the pine if he is being a distraction.
Huh?? | 1:34 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
yeah....about CJ...he hasn't shown anything...the only thing he has shown is that he is too lazy to come to summer camp. Also, he has shown that no other team wants him.
Jazz need to cut AK, Collins, CJ and Giri loose!

orangecrush74 the reason why no one complained about AK when he was an allstar is that he was producing but now that he has his max deal he not doing anything. If I was making 86 million over the next few years I think I would just shut up and get the job done. But AK won't shut up and just work he has to cry because he doesn't get the ball. Deron Williams even said why would he pass the ball to someone that doesn't even work on his shot.
Sloan Still on roster? | 2:24 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
He Couldn't coach Jordon when he was with the Bulls.
He Couldn't coach 2 hall famers to a championship with the Jazz.

History shows you don't build a team around a power forward. No team in the last forty years, maybe ever, has won a championship being led by a power forward. Year after year the team that wins has no name power forwards that just defend and rebound (AND DON"T TELL ME DUNCAN IS A POWER FORWARD and maybe the JAZZ would have won if malone was 7 foot tall!) (Side point: Malone was the most underachieving rebounder in nba history)

History shows that to win a championship you need great guards, small forward, and center. All we are seeing now is the stockton/malone years repeated. Do we really want go through that hopelessness again?

Little Man in the middle. GET RID OF HIM BEFORE HE DESTROYS THE TEAM!

Sloan still on roster, I think you might be legally retarded. Stockton and Malone are Hall of Famers in large part thanks to Sloan. What is this hopelessness you are referring to? Those Jazz Finals teams are arguably the best teams to never win a championship (64 and 62 win seasons). Sloan's style obviously works. It wasn't because Sloan couldn't coach them, it was because of Michael Jeffrey Jordan. There is no way the Jazz get to the conference finals last year without Sloan and there's no way the current team gets back there without him.

"Sloan Still on roster?"

Get your facts correct. Malone is the 6th place all time rebounder in NBA history. He is also in the top 40 all time in RPG.

Sloan never coached Jordan. He was the coach for the Bulls before Jordan was drafted.

Sloan Still on Roster?

Sloans last year with Chicago was 1981-82. Jordan was drafted in 1984 and he won his first Championship in 1991. Which is exciting and something to look forward for our present Jazz. Williams will be his 3rd year and 6 years for Booz and the Money Man, but of course, they have not been with the Jazz for 6 years. If they stay together I can see the Jazz in a year or so to be in the Finals. Not saying that they will win it, but at least in the finals. I would trade Kirilenko for Marion, even though Marion has a funny shot it goes in and Kirilenko throws a brick. If Kirilenko wants to touch the ball more send him to the Lakers for Lamar Odam he has 2 years on his contract. In Minnesota we can trade Kirilenko for Theo Ratliff who has 1 year on his contract, then the Jazz can get rid of Collins and place Fesenko to Orem for a year. They should also should trade Giricek for a future 2nd round, this way the young shooting guards can get some playing time and experience.

Sloan is a great coach. He took us to the finals last year when no one expected that. I hope for a great year.

Thank you Golden State for winning over Dallas; you helped the Jazz as much as anyone to get to the WC Finals.

Remember: never judge a coach by how long he has been with the same organization without winning a championship.

Remember: never judge a declining producer by how well he whines.

A. Kirilenko - are you gone? Something about the Jazz you don't like, speak up, some one has got to listen.

D. Fisher the Jazz will sorely miss you. There will be limited mature team leadership without you. What are all the reasons you left? Something about the Jazz you didn't like?

Raja Bell, why did you ever leave, you even had a choice? Something about the Jazz you didn't believe in? Now you only seem like a late bloomer!

I like Sloan, and his no nonsense approach to overpaid athletes. People who call for his head always ask for a new coach but have no clue who to replace him with and thats because there is no one out there. I like the effort they have put into getting us playoff capable. But it seems ever since they developed Stockton and Malone that they just keep looking for that same type of undiscovered talent. I am mostly referring to Free Agents about this. When was the last time they pulled the trigger on a good trade or went after a solid free agent. It was Hornacek and that propelled us into the finals. This is evident with the two guards they signed to back up Dwill. They had the opportunity to pull the trigger with Morris Peterson and passed on him not sure why. The current roster they have is not a championship team. Definately a playoff team but to get over the hump they got to be willing to go out and find a SF/SG and be willing to do so. This team needs a Raja Bell type player to win it all.

why is cj miles even being considered again? and giricek? i mean, honestly, the jazz need some serious help in the shooting guard position... hopefully almond will work well
ME | 9:52 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
After looking the Jazz over, Morris Peterson, a free agent, choose for himself to go elsewhere. Was there something he didn't like about the Jazz?
YOU | 10:26 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
The jazz werent willing to offer him the money he wanted. And in today's game thats a big deal!
SMW | 11:40 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
AK won a championship this summer. D Will became a team leader this summer. Memo even had some good games in FIBA this summer. You never ever, ever, fire a coach that gets you to the playoffs. D will and Slone have been looking at moving Memo to SF at times to get AK inside. Booz is wisely taking care of his family and will be here shortly. Gera is the best SG we have. We need to keep him until some one takes it from him, as it goes for any one on the team. The Jazz will win more games this year than last year.

sloan just needs to decide if he wants c.j to get better by playing him and dealing with his mistakes of being young... c.j shot is super smooth he just needs time, he will be better than deshaun stevenson you will see. you can't expect a 18-21 year old to be great right off the bat garnett, kobe, jermain o'neal they all took several years to become great. you never know jazz fans he just needs a full year with a good amount of playing time.
Sloan Still on Roster? | 7:01 p.m. Sept. 30, 2007
Malone is was a Underachieving rebounder. Career stats mean nothing except he played a long time. You need to look at game average stats. You will see he verage far less rebounds per game than many of his peers.

Jazz in Pittsbugh calling me names say more about you thant it does me. In the years The jzz went to the finals they were not one of the best two teams in the league. Indiana beat almost everytime they played.

And Sloan being a hard as doesn't make him a good coach. It just makes him a hard Ass. An yes He got to overachieve as a team. But that just meant they couldn't get good draft choices like they would have otherwise. There fore hurting the team in the long run. And He still couldn't win a championship with 2 hall of famers.

And you don't build your team around a player who can't create his own shot.

If they lose AK that would be a huge defensive loss. Who else on that team actually plays defense. No one.

And it's just silly to say there is no else who can coach the jazz.
Big Boy | 11:05 a.m. Oct. 1, 2007
AK reminds me of a guy with whom I play pickup ball. There are 10 or 15 of us who get together every week, and this character is a great shooter only in his mind. In reality he seldom hits over 20 percent. The other guys and I still pass to him because we are playing for fun. Though we want to win, when this bad shooter is on our team, we don't want him to feel left out. If we had a coached league team, if this guy ever got on the court when the outcome was in doubt, neither I nor anybody else would pass to him except under the hoop.

Sloan is a very good coach.... and Phil, his assistant, would also be a very good coach. I think the jazz would do well this year with either one of them at the helm.
Don't Change the Formula | 6:54 p.m. Oct. 1, 2007
In all honesty, it doesn't matter whether Sloan is a good coach or not. When you win as much as the Jazz did last season you DON'T CHANGE THE FORMULA. I don't see how the Matrix would enjoy playing for the Jazz more than the Suns... he's complaining about being the third star on that team and wouldn't he be the third star after Williams and Boozer? Even Mehmo might have more star power!

I'm excited to see Ronnie Price on the roster. I watched him play at Utah Valley State and he was electrifying. He's a bit short (6'2) but if he develops like I expect him to he'll solve the SG problem. Go Jazz!
