GREAT news for anyone who still believes the Bill of Rights means anything close to what it says!
Oh.
Wait.
Dubya still gets to nominate a successor.
Darn.
jftr, Clinton's nomination to the Utah District Court (his only one, iirc) was a Republican, former prosecutor. This judge is among the one or two most competent on the federal bench in SLC. Not especially conservative and certainly not liberal. Just a darn good judge.
Dubya's effort to pack the judiciary with right wing ideologues is unnecessary and just plain wrong.
Judge Cassell was a half-wit ideolog that had very little understanding of anything in the civil arena. Now maybee people can starting getting some cases resolved.
