Not mentioned here is that low thyroid can also affect balance. I was first diagnosed with Meniers disease, I flunked the ENG test, and had all the symptoms. When I started taking thyroid medicine, the dizziness, imbalance, ringing ears, and tingling muscles I was experiencing literally went away. My thyroid values were supposedly normal, but thyroid antibodies were high. Be sure the doctor checks ALL the thyroid functions, not just the Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and T4.

I'm grateful for educational pieces of this sort that provide direction to many of us who struggle with where to seek help for these issues. I will look to the experts immediately at Rocky Mountain Hearing and Balance and Mountain Land Physical Therapy to address my problems. Thank you!
