The state may not suffer incremental costs, thus the fiscal note would be zero. But--if a small employer has an employee request a leave for pregnancy, or for any other protected reason, the work force is reduced by 20%. This is next to impossible for a small employer to accomodate. But the employer would be subject to having to defend itself in a frivolous lawsuit if it did not make the accommodation.

You are right on the money!

Attorney, Robert Wilde, is simply putting himself in a sweet position so that he can later sue the heck out of small businesses for frivolous reasons.
Wilde could care less about what drives our economy. If the legislature falls for this, our legal system will become more jammed that it is now and the pass through cost of litigation to the consumer will far outweigh normal inflation.

I am in the insurance business and one of the coverages I always recommend is employment practices liability. A bill to lower the theshold will cause EPL rates to skyrocket!
