Um, what exactly is the correlation between what happened in these relationships and this young girl being raped? If she didn't want it, she didn't want it. That has nothing to do with any other couple. This is like saying, "Well this man over hear didn't rape anyone, so the man you're accusing couldn't have committed rape." Makes no sense at all whatsoever.

Of course someone can be "kind and caring" in other ways, but what we're talking about in this trial is condoned rape. I find that things always get twisted around when things like this are discussed. This man was found running from the law with wads of money and supplies and he knows he's guilty of what he's charged with. This group of people haven't always known that the way they treat "marriage" is wrong, but they are now getting a lesson.
He will not get off because "he can be nice to people"!

I believe strongly in the freedom of religion but not at the expense of a 14 year old. Unfortunately, I think this is a very abusive environment to all of these poor woman and sadly they just dont realize it!

Still wondering... are charges going to be brought against the girl's husband... and how about her parents who allowed it?

If the State is just going after Jeffs, there are a lot of other church leaders, of many denominations, that are guilty of bad advice and covering what they know is criminal activity by members of their congregations. Is this trial taking place simply because polygamy sheds a bad light on Utah? And somebody else claims to be the true prophet?

Let's be honest about it. This is the State know for it's L.D.S. religion and the State is offended when anything offends "its" religion.

This is turning into a "he said, she said" case. If the prosecution has only the testimony Jane Doe, how can the jury convict? As Ed said, the husband isn't being charged with rape, so how can Jeffs be charged as an accomplice to a crime that has not been pursued by the prosecutor? Can they prove that a rape actually occurred?

I have no love for polygamy, but this case is melting down.

Interesting that a divorce was allowed for nagging. Looks like they are just trying to to put Jeffs in a better light, but it sounds like lies.

No. Utah sees a major earthquake every 350 years. Last one? 350 years ago.
