Quarry Bend - isn't that the old quarry that was slated to be a park, but the residents voted to turn it into a big box center? Seems that they got exactly what they voted for. . . Quit complaining.

The reason the council has such a difficult job balancing the rights of commercial and residential is beacause the scale is so heavily tipped toward commercial property owners rights.
We all know Sandy City's eyes pop out when they see tax dollars! It's just too bad they don't respect residential property owners rights. What they have done to some residents lifes is disgraceful and petty.
You can bet your house on the fact that the people above Quarrybend did'nt vote for the back of those bigbox stores to be put up against their property.
Just like the people that are stuck below the illegal fill dirt of the Little Cottonwood Center!
D. C. do you think that was their wish too?
Sounds like you don't live behind a 24 hour superstore, Do you?
Do you work for Sandy City? Or are you just a nose- pokey-prone kind of person?

Sorry to all those residents adjacent to new developments, just think if one of the Council members,Planning staff members,or other City Officails family members or relatives lived on Tramway Dr. or above QuarryBend those developments would be alot different.
Could you imagine the Mayors family living behind the dumpster or loading docks of a 24-hour superstore?

SOUNDS AS THOUGH MR. ANDERSON RIDES THE FENCE VOTING ON ISSUES AT CITY COUNCIL.

WOULD HAVE LOOKED PRETTY BAD IF THE VOTE HAD BEEN 5 TO 2,INSTEAD OF THE 4 TO 3 WITH ANDERSONS VOTE.

WE DON'T WANT A LANDSLIDE DO WE?
My take | 9:20 p.m. Sept. 19, 2007
Well I guess Sandy City Officials do not have thier own backbone on noise, sounds like they pushed aside the noise issue so it could get forgotten in the shuffle.
Sandy City Officials are very betraying, they will only bring issues to the forfront that make them look good to the public!
Remember how quick the Soccer issues got resolved by the Sandy Mayor, 50+ million dollars to one of the worst teams in the league. How disappionting was that decision?
Maybe the Mayor of Sandy will become a big hero!
Somehow getting all those ordinance violating superstores, among other allnight retailers, to obey the Sandy noise ordinance. Do you think the Mayor will intimidate the retailers and contractors more than stiffer fines?
These retailers need to pay hefty fines for waking up the neighborhoods in the middle of the night, or early morning hours with their delivery vendors. Oh" like one person said we don't need semi trucks wizzing up and down our roads allnight long! That's a safety issue, isn't it?
Respect the PEACE of others!
What!! | 9:26 p.m. Sept. 19, 2007
All you Sandy City residents should go to CityHall for a waxy injection of politics, maybe you won't hear the trucks so easily!

Of course Sandy Officials are going to stand behind the high tax paying retailers and developers, they could careless about some neighborhoods getting peace between 9pm to 7am, as long as it is not their own neighborhood!

Looks like another underhanded attempt at not hearing any noise from the residents, at the Sept 11, meeting Sandy Council member Steve Smith gave his input to helping with the noise problem, he suggested that the council not listen to any public comment!
So far that is the only thing Sandy Council has done to quiet the situation.
I bet they have not lost any sleep over it!

The Sandy news letter should include the reality of Sandy. Isn't that the most pompous peace of papers you have ever witnessed, it's so sweetened with deception! Yeah it's the rag to polish Sandy Officials!
How come you never see Mr. Dolan shaking hands with the poeple who live behind Big box 24 hour super stores?

Why are the City coucil members being so difficult to work with? I thought when I voted them in they cared about the citizens, and would protect them from these types of problems!
WHY HAVE POLICE | 12:03 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
Is Sandy City really the 26th safest city in America? The answer is "NO". They would like to us all to believe that deceptive statistic. The fact is that Sandy City police do not care to report on all of the crimes in thier City! Cheif of Police Chapman is only concerned with the false claim of safety, because it is his legacy to some day retire with some kind of claim that he has achieved something worthy.
Sandy City Officials wish not to tarnish that misleading statistical lye, the Sandy city police dept, has been ignoring enforcement on the Sandy noise ordinance on a constant pattern, for much to long! Neighbors of the LittleCottonwod development have been reporting violations for over 8 years, 95 percent of those violations have resulted in the police dept, looking the other way!
I challenge anyone to come out to the LittleCottonwood center, Smiths/ Shopco, or Quarry Bend developments in the early morning hours, any morning of the year and witness the constant violations occuring that disturb the peace of the nieghboring residents. All basically being allowed because it would not reflect well on the Sandy crime reputation. "Know would it?"
My Answer | 12:24 p.m. Sept. 29, 2007
We need Police or else there would be to many uneaten donuts in the world, see there are some good things about Cops!
