The real Champions are the Great Falls White Sox.
The Sox had the best record in the league.
The Sox didn't benefit from poor umpiring.
We do not recognize the Owlz as winners of anything.
The Owlz had a losing record during the season and
they took advantage of very bad calls.
The Owlz did it when it counted. They were a perfect 4 and 0 in the playoffs. Tom Kotchman is the best manager in the Pioneer League and one of the best of all the Minor Leagues.
Tony,
I appreciate your comment, however, as one of the owners of the Franchise in Orem, it pains me to read your comments. You had fans go after the umpire with a knife? You screamed things to our team, women and children that you should apologize for and be ashamed of. What the classless actions of your fans did was diminish a very successful season for the White Sox and one great game to end the season. Our team earned that trophy and it will hang in our stadium and office with pride. The Orem Owlz have nothing to be ashamed about. That is why we play 2 halves to the short season. Our team got hot when it mattered and played their hearts out.
I hope your comments were in a time of rage and are not how you truly feel.
By the way, we do not need you or anyone else to recognize us as Champions. The homerun over the scoreboard and the clutch pitching of 8 innings of relief did that for us.
to set the record straight in case anyone reads Jason Taylor's comments. I never had any contact with the umpires or anybody with the Owlz. His accusations are completely untruthful.
I was in section 8 on the 3rd base side of the plate and left with my 10 year old daughter while the trophy was handed out. Why would I risk my life by bringing a knife to a baseball game, get real. Why would I put my 10 year old in harm's way, you have got to kidding!!!
Keep your little trophy and stop accusing me of something I didn't do.
I was informed by a witness that an unruly male did display a knife at that game. I like rivalry and competition but this person was out of line. I was not aware of the incident until 9/27/07. In our section we all left when the trophy was brought out. We got a little rowdy but we know when to stop and after venting a little on the net, life goes on.
