It is really distressing, if not downright frightening, for women to realize that in this day and age, in a First-World country where there are supposed to be equal rights, women can still be treated like chattels and the State does nothing to stop it. Instead, in spite of the law proscribing polygamy, the State muses that maybe men do have the religious right to collect women as concubines into harems, and they're not going to interfere with religion, oh no, not them! When are the authorities going to acknowledge that polygamy is not about Christian belief, (Christ and St. Paul forbade polygamy and advocated monogamy -- read the New Testament) but is an ancient tribal, patriarchal practise come down to us from the dark ages when women were considered property? Polygamy should be kicked into the garbage can of history, where it belongs. No concubines and harems in the U.S.A, thank you!

Good Job! I agree completely....And I think we're on the road to have it "kicked in the garbage can of history". Everyone should be willing to change the bad things in history and this is definately one of those things.
