At least the game won't be seen by many as it is on The Mtn. Maybe next week Utah can come anout.

Typical

Sure did'nt take long to go from undefeated, back to mediocrity. Too bad there isn't a draft in college football. If there was, at least Utah could get a top 5 draft choice for next year.
I blame the rise to national mediocrity, on BYU. If the powers that be, would have offered Coach Whit more money, He would be at BYU and leading them to National Mediocrity. Insead Utah won the biding war and lost a program. Should have hired Coach Fossel. I sure miss the Daffy Duck. At least it was entertaining when Utah lost!
No leadership, No discipline , and a lot of talk.

Jimmy's Sneakers

Jimmy can't wait for the Tommy Grady era to be over, and the Brian Johnson era to resume.

Michigan Ute

You guys are absolutely right! We should not show up to any more games this year -- we can reason it all out right here on the internet.
You guys need to take some really big, deep breaths, and get on with your lives. I am as RED as they come, and much deeper RED than anhy of you appear to be. But in the end, it is a GAME!

Ute alumnus from Vegas

It has been established that in college football the best defense is a good offense. Currently we have niether. Why did we hire Whittingham again? I don't know whether to pull for us, or root against Whittingham.

Bobby Miles Dupaix

If Utah loses today, how long will the Utah Alumni Association stand behind their former Coug coach? It's obvious the team is headed in a bad direction, but I think they will wait until after the Utes lose the USU game, so when they do cut him loose they will have a convienent scapegoat.

(Maybe this is why Utah agreed to the whole mtn. fiasco...)

(Bobby thinks he will go watch Jimmy play basketball today. Bobby thinks Jimmy's sneakers make his calves too strong, make Jimmy jump too high).

Has anyone noticed that once McBride left, we really haven't recruited any outstanding ATHLETES. Sure, we have a few handful, but not if you look at the team as a whole. Yes, McBride was a mediocre game manager, but he did get talent here. Why can't we recruit a running back?

Deaner

Seriously, i can't beleive what i am reading. Why give up on the UTes after one loss, to a very good OSU team, in which we lost two key players? All you fairweather fans, do us a favor... leave and don't come back. Find some other Bandwagon to jump on. I here Rutgers still has a few spots open. Lame!

For the true Utah fans out there, rain or shine, lets keep going to the games and supporting our Utes... NO MATTER WHAT!

los

Ever since Urban left I have noticed a lack of sharpness and focus from the team. And it's just the little things, but that makes all the difference. When the Utes lined up for a play a few years ago, the linemen would quickly line up and be perfectly aligned. Everyone wsas on the same page.

Now, when they line up, they lazily go to the huddle, then lolligag to the line and everyone's splits are all sloppy.

When Meyer was here, we put out the best possible athletes on every play. I know a lot of angry players who left the team because they didn't get to be on special teams. With Urban, he would put starters on special teams to have a decent chance to compete.

He wouldn't put a mediocre athlete on the field just because he "tried hard" or because of loyalty. If they were on scholarship but average, he asked them to leave the team, so he could bring in more talent. He didn't feel "bad" and keep them, knowing they'd never play.

They were the were also the team in the best shape when they wen't on the field. You never saw them tired and worn out.

The little things have made all the difference. Bring in John L. Smith or Stoops after he gets fired from Arizona next year.

Whittingham is a good defensive coordinator but not a good game manager. They'll probably get rid of Ludwig this year and then Whit next year. Two more years to go with this mediocracy. And, NO, it's not because he "followed Urban." He simply CANNOT game manage or get good talent here!

Has anyone bought firewhittingham.com yet?

gordon

OSU? A good team? Um...did you see how they got slaughtered by Cincinatti? Their QB's are horrible and Cinci just put 8 in the box like we should have done. By the third quarter they were toast.

Utah Man

I agree with Los there is general lack of sharpness with the Utes, any chance on bringing Urban Meyer back?

Deaner

Hey gordon, why don't you go be a Bear cat fan then? Fair-weather fan!

doughboy

Whittingham's defenses always struggled against Air Force's wishbone attacks. Even in the Fiesta Bowl year the Utes got behind by 14 to the Falcons in the first quarter. It helps Utah that AFA is running a more traditional offense now. Utah 27, AFA 10!

Be true a fan and show up today and support our team. I hate band wagon riders support them when they win knock them when they lose. We lost our starting back and QB give Whit and the team a break.

Utah by Five!

byuck

Is Grady on scholarship? Cause I'd hate to think we're all paying for his schooling. He's the worst qb in Utah history. Utes loose every game with him at the helm.

Gordon Monson

Fire Whittingham! Fire Whittingham! Fire Whittingham!

UCLA 37 Utah 10
Utah State 17 Utah 10

Whit Hater

FIRE WHIT ALREADY!!

Hire Whittingham

Whittingham = Sugar bowl victory!
