Illegal: Job quest often involves fraud
15 comments | Read story
The Social Security Administration publishes a booklet that explains how to detect phony documents normally used in job placement.
My company is the larges employer in So. Utah with over 2000 employees. We have NO illegal employees and normally reject 1 or 2 illegal job applicants on a daily basis.
Get real people....quit hiring illegals.
The solution to this problem is a national citizen identity card that is tied to the actual person it is meant to identify. That is, using biometrics, the possibility of having one's identity stolen is reduced to zero. There are several iron-clad methods to acheive this.
Having a truly effective means of verifying the identity, and, more to the point of this article, the citizenship status of everyone in the country, would be a solution to many very serious problems facing our nation right now. The sooner the better.
Shurtleff went on to get the Order of the Aztec Eagle from Vecente Fox for that one. As long as Shurtleff is attorney general we will continue to have the laws ignored and our identities stolen!
How? Enforce current laws, one state at a time.
BTW, IMHO, once it's found out that an invader had put $ into a legit person's acct that invader should be tracked down by the govt & booted out of the USA FOREVER & EVER!!!(see below) IOW, no 10 yr ban but a LIFETIME ban of being allowed to re-enter the USA for ANY REASON WHATSOEVER!!!
Mike Haynes, Does your employer report fraud attempt(s) to ICE? If not--WHY NOT? Even if ICE doesn't do anything about it AT LEAST you would've tried!
Sam Hill, Neither God, my parents or the Constitution decided I needed a Big Brother & I DON'T WANT ONE NOW via Natl ID card. If we give border guards standing orders to SHOOT DEAD any adult they see crossing either No./So. border @ unapproved locations that would cut-down on the # of invaders & tell those that we catch in the interior that out they go once w/ DNA & fingerprints taken & if they are ever caught inside the USA EVER AGAIN FOR ANY REASON they will be summarily EXECUTED upon verification via DNA & fingerprints of previous-expulsion & previous-warning.
At any rate, once an identity thief has performed their hit and run, or financial rape, they should be held to the highest possible consequence that the law should allow. And as an illegal who does this? There is no easy answer. From a financial standpoint, it is better to send them home so the taxpayers are not supporting them in our penal facilities. But that only grants them their freedom to live in their own countries and come back and stab us again, illegally. And I agree, if someone is deported, there should be no 10 year waiting period to return legally. If you broke the law coming here in the first place, there should be no second chances, ESPECIALLY if you broke other laws your first time round. If they broke the law the first time, what makes you think they'll be an upstanding citizen if they are allowed back?
DEPORT THEM ALL!
Isn't it fascinating? When people suggest that Utah deny drover's licenses or state benefits or help the Feds enforce the law, the Open Borders freaks claim "it's a federal issue."
But when the Feds do try to ban state's from giving driver's licenses or in-state tuition or anything else in order to enforce the immigration laws, they say "The Feds can't get involved - those are state issues!"
These neofeudalists will use any lame, dishonest argument to continue the flow of cheap labor. That includes the News editorial board.
