Regardless of which side of the fence you sit or who orginated this article, the high number of responses shows that people read this newspaper. I am somewhat astounded that there is so much antagonism created by such an innocent piece of writing. I was greatly entertained by the article and the comments. I would say that the objective was accomplished by the Deseret Morning News.

To Ken: I just find it amusing that you're complaining about DesNews printing a biased article to the "general readership" when it's clearly in a feature called "Mormon Lite"... the name alone should have tipped you off as to the content being mormon humor... :)

Yeah I've lived all over the country too, and every place has their own stereotypes ("Everything is bigger in Texas" ring a bell?). I have my own preferences about where I would like to live, but overall I find these comments to be a pretty accurate reflection of human nature in general, and it gives me some good ideas for psychology experiments...

As for me, I love poking light-hearted fun at my own religion, and you probably wouldn't be surprised at all the Catholic jokes I've heard from my catholic friends!

This article was very funny because it's so true! That's what we Utah Morman's do! However, the green jell-o with shredded carrots is missing! And the buffet line with the relief society in the kitchen. Other then that, it's perfect! Loved the puns on the food! :D

You've got to admit it was at least a little bit funny. When I was a kid I was excided to go to the "Stake Center". And church dinners are'nt that bad.

Dear editor-PLEASE re-run the much commented on article again. I choose not to drink, so these comments have entertained me for days. I have so enjoyed the comments and would like to see them go on for at least 6 months more. Imagine the delight you would bring to us as the "splinter" groups go at each other all from the safety of their homes! Bumper stickers and T-shirts that shout "Cheese Free" and "Utah Mormon, and Proud of it!!!" will fill up the the Roadways and shopping Malls. I can't wait-run it again and again!!!
