Way to go Unga and by the way, it's about time KSL Sports pronounced your name correctly....LOL!!
I bet Harvey's dad has every newspaper clipping of Harvey in his office. He should be proud.
Harvey was awesome on Saturday. But the article incorrectly identifies Fini Unga as a Timpview player in the Sean Covey era. Fini and Sean both played for and graduated from the home of the mighty bulldogs - Provo High School. They graduated in 1983 after winning the State Championship in football that year.
UNGA UNGA, getcha some!!!!! BYU 24 UCLA 20
Fine Unga went to Provo High. So did Sean Covey.
Harvey's last name is pronounced "ooh-ngaahh." The "g" has a similiar sound to the letter "n." It is not "UN-GAH."
Harvey Unga should be really HUnga(ry) for more football for the next game against UCLA. Very talented guy who can focus very well on the field. Wish him well!
Provo high's mascot is the Bulldog...Timpview's the Thunderbird. Harvey played at Timpview for the Thunderbirds, not Provo, the bulldogs.
Great player no matter where he played high school.
Yeah Unga played at Timpview and Timpview won the title in 2004. I dont know how Desnews could overlook that mistake since Provo hasnt exactly been winning championships in football recently.
With the MTC in Provo, why don't the sportscasters learn how to pronounce Polyneisans names....I mean they slaughter them every year.....Harvey last name should be pronounced...Ohh (nga) is how you say sing...with the ng only with a long ahhhhh....
ohhh,...ng..aahhhh....Unger....
sorry about the last comment.....some might say ohhh. what I meant is you still pronounce the U...
like UU ng ahhhh....sorry my bad.......thanks
Hey Jackson, OK to be proud of your son but how about a little humility? OK Harvey has had success but it's not a sin for you to stand and cheer for your son. He's never done it at this level. People aren't watching you in the stands like you may think. It's not "un-cool" to cheer, especially for your own son!!!!!
It is really amazing how these writers are paid to cover sports and within one year they are clueless as to who played where. When it is a few years back they are completely lost.
Someone needs to do a lot more homework when they expect to be paid to be a professional writer.
Polyboy. First you have to spell Polynesian correctly, then you can tell someone how to pronounce the name. Hopefully that was an excitement typo.
"he helped Timpview win the 4A state championship in 2004." "Fine Unga, a former Provo running back in the Sean Covey era" Where exactly is the mistake?
great job nephew you and your cousin sam langi jr is making the family proud.
so i still don't know how to pronounce his last name so let's just chant HAR VEY HAR VEY from the stands next home game...or is that not the way you pronounce the first name? i think we all need lessons in pronounciation of the polynesian names. i know the vowels are all pronounced from what i have been told in the past. perhaps Dick Harmon can put together a pronounciation guide for the fans.
Jackson, 'ai pe mu'a moke ki'i pasipasi pe ko ho'o tangutu 'o fakamafana sea he 'oku momoko? Like Mr. Cool Jackson said, "It's alright to stand and cheer". Pe koe malie 'ae Va'inga 'a Harvey 'o hoko kihe 'ene Uncle, Vikita Tausinga...lol.
