To say the truth , I do think many people actually don't know what Attention-Deficit Disorder (ADD) is. There is also the fact that, very few parents or gurdians actually pay attention to the behavioral trends of their kids.
My greatest worry is ,how should educators help such kids with learning. Do we actually have medication that can be used to treat children suffering from attention deficit disorder? Or is it to be blamed on parents for not providing their children with the required medications?
9% of the population 8 to 15 kids have ADHD. That's tragic that they aren't getting the help that IS available for them. How about the 25% of the entire population who are dyslexic (adults and kids) that get NO help in the state of Utah because dyslexica isn't a recognized learning disorder here. I have had teacher try and get my kids labeled as ADHD when really they were bored because of dsylexica. I can pay priviatly to have my kids diagnosed as dsylexic but it doesn't do any real good until they get to college where there are actual programs and procedures to help. Until then I have to work within the system that is too busy to teach bright children to read.
