Anyone being a fan of football has to respect Bingham Miner football. If anyone thinks they can play with them, they are clearly wrong. A loss to Bingham would be more shocking than Michigan's lost
WasatchMan | 9:01 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
It's about time 3A got a little respect for the top programs. Region 10 looks as tough as any in the state. And head to head matchups against the bigger schools have had the top 3A teams coming out victorious. Props to the Wasatch Wasps!
carter, fillmore | 9:02 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
the millard eagles are getting the short end of the stick, 3-0 against 3A schools and no love? what a joke these rankings are. who cares about classification? put the best teams up, not the biggest schools

Recruiting Wars | 10:10 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Has anyone noticed that Skyline's demise mirror's Cottonwood's rise? Obviously, Cottonwood is beating Skyline in the recruiting wars. The sad evidence of the impotence of the UHSAA.
Bill Hunter | 10:14 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
P.G. should not be ranked 13. you are giving a young team too much credit there offence is not that good if anything this team should be Ranked 25
BoB Jensen | 10:19 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
I Agree with Carter, Fillmore maybe PG should not be ranked at 13 and put Millard there PG is just too young Rank them 25!
Anonymous | 10:50 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Has the #25 team on there not also beaten all the 3A teams they've played, Millard fans? What makes you feel more deserving of that spot than them?
just wondering | 11:19 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
When you wrote "Looked good winning fourth straight against Skyline" about Highland, is this the fourth straight time that they have beat Skyline or is this supposed to be their fourth straight win? I thought American Fork beat them. A bit confusing!
OtherGuy | 11:26 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Pine View is at it again. Go Dog Town! You guys are a joke. I've never seen such a buch of babies. I can't wait until you get beat down. I promise it will happen.
Eagle | 11:41 a.m. Sept. 4, 2007
You are right Anonymous - Millard is doing well but it's a stretch to say a 2A team should be top 25. Just over zealous fans who are excited by a great start so far. Let's see if we can get by Manti this week..
Pine View | 12:58 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
I am a head coach of a 5A school. I will say this, Pine View, Dixie, and Snow Canyon will make waves. Keep up the good work. Coach Hosner is a superb coach. Take care of him down there, or you will lose him.
mr. right | 2:53 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
for those of you who actually think millard deserve to be in the top 25 you are patheticaly nieve i'm sorry but millard would not stand a chance with any of the teams in the top 25 I'm sorry the truth hurts sometimes but good luck in 2-A this year
I'm with Millard! | 3:50 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Why isn't Whitehorse on this list? They may be small, but they deserve to be included just like Millard and the rest of the small-town guys! This is an outrage!
Who Cares? | 3:59 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Ok, seriously, there is a reason why the top 25 only has 5A and 4A teams... and well, a couple 3A teams... that is because if you were to put any of those 2A schools up against any of these "top 25" schools, I guarantee you that it would be a blowout from the get go! Wouldn't even be a game!
J. McEnroe | 5:19 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Whitehorse? You can't be serious! Whitehorse? WHITEHORSE?!
Anonymous | 5:30 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
millard could give 22-25 a decent game. i dont think they are in the top 25 though. they are probably 35 or something. good luck to them though. they are the only 1 or 2A team that would even be close though.
recruit this | 7:25 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
to "Recruiting Wars," are we supposed to feel sad for Skyline by getting beat at their own game? How many years have those guys been recruiting and winning state titles and now they get beat at their own game and we're supposed to feel sorry for them? Sorry, not gonna do it.
MINER 4 LIFE! | 7:51 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
The Boys in BLUE are for real watch out. Jordan is going to be a real test for them though because Bingham has a weak secondary. The only strong point I see in that secondary is Peck at stong saftey. If Raymond has a break out game tac a loss up for the boys in blue.
Anonymous | 8:36 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
bingham doesn't have a weak secondary...PECK, CHAUS, LUDWIG, AND FORD??? get real... miner 4 life you don't know what your talking about dog...those boys are better in the secondary than any other team in the state...maybe you should be a fan for someone else!
JOE | 8:39 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
peck doesnt even play ss hahahaha he is the FREE safety...but i'm glad you know what you are talking about.
Fearber fan | 9:02 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
When push comes to shove its all about syracuse. They definitely are taking state this year. The only team i see taking away their championship is the San Fransisco 49ers. Fearber for life!!
Anonymous | 9:43 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
syracuse is sooorrrryyyyyy!
brighton all the way | 9:51 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
brighton should be in the top 20 at least they have had a tough schedule so far only losing to #5 (cottonwood and davis) i see this team gettin nothin but better eventually battling with bingham. they will beat kearns by at least four td's. Mike hanna having a huge game too. BRIGHTON BRIGHTON BRIGHTON!!!!!!!!!
J. McEnroe | 10:00 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
Syracuse taking state? You can't be serious! That is the worst call I have ever seen! Syracuse? Syracuse?! You can't be SERIOUS!
i dont care | 10:15 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
South Summit has the best team in the state and the best player with stembridge, you all need to watch him play he is the next Barry Sanders, but white. I don't care what you say so don't try to argue with me. South Summit would beat Bingham like the bunch of sissy boys they are!! SOUTH SUMMIT SOUTH SUMMIT #1, To bad Bingham has the luxery of not having to play the best team in the state or their record wouldn't look so pretty!!
down south | 10:46 p.m. Sept. 4, 2007
haha you can't be seroius about south summit? that is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard
Fremont politics | 12:32 a.m. Sept. 5, 2007
Fremont does not have to recruit. They just get to carve up boundary lines that don't belong to them: political geographics so to speak. Leave the Roy high and Weber high boundaris the way they were. When did Hooper , all of West Roy, and Harrisville become Fremont boundaries? Fremont gobbles up any neighborhood/community that it deems will help their clickish monopoly. Their boundary map looks like a jig-saw puzzle. Unless your going to annex Roy, West Haven and Harrisville into Plain city, then leave these city's alone.

wasatch4life | 9:25 a.m. Sept. 5, 2007
millard would get stomped by wasatch. a 2a team cant match up to the top 4 in 3a.
Weber Fan | 12:04 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
The boundaries for Fremont were made to lessen the overcrowding of both Roy and Weber. Both Weber and Roy were built to only hold so many students. At the time when Fremont was built Weber and Roy were bursting at the seems. The geographfic boundaries were decided by the School District (not Fremont or Plain City) in 1994 prior to the new school opening. Many residents in Plain City were not happy about the new high school being built in their community but it happened anyway. Fremont does not gobble up any neighborhood/community that it deems will help their clickish monopoly. GET REAL. If you have a problem with the boundaries, talk to the school district. Don't blame Fremont, the students at Fremont work hard at what they do just like those at Weber and Roy.
chuck norris | 12:54 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
well wasatch if you can recall, cedar was #3 when millard creamed them, and the sad thing is wasatch, judge, park city, and delta dont look as good near as cedar
Walker Texas Ranger | 1:19 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
I am going to have to agree with Chuck Norris, Cedar looked tough when I saw them play and Millard handed it to them. So i think it is safe to say Millard would compete with most teams in 3A except maybe Logan, we will have to wait and see.
chuck norris | 2:32 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
mr. right: you know nothing about football if you honestly think millard doesnt deserve to be ranked in the top 25, millard trains harder, works harder, and goes harder every single play than any 4a 5a city slicker school in the state of utah. i would like to see millards 28 against some 5a's 80 go at it and see what happens
Huge BM lover!!! | 5:29 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
I am probably the best high school football player in the state and I gotta say that the Bingham Miners is the best team in the state! All this talkin' about other team being the best team is nonsense!!! The BM's totally got it goin' on with the best back feild and the best o line and the best d line and the best quarterback and the best special teams. Its gonna be a long season for all you other teams out there! We gonna' show Utah how to play again and again 'cause they aint learned last year! Watch out!!! I smell a BM repeat comin' on!!!
Anonymous | 8:01 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
We all know that Layton is by far the best team in the state. You just wait and see. Somtimes i get sick of being the best at everything we do. Someone should actually put up a true fight against us. We'll take state in every sport. Wilson would take anyone in a cage fight. Layton is by far the best team in the state and Bingham or Alta doesnt compare. I guarantee we beat Northridge this week by at least four touchdowns, and at minimum let them get one field goal. Good luck to anyone that comes up against us cause your going to lose. I'm not cocky i'm just confident!
Alta Hawk | 8:01 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
Hey, huge BM lover, please take the time to read and evaluate your posted message. I just wanted to compliment you on your great skill of spelling. Keep up the great job. Next time Alta and Bingham meet we'll show you that Bingham truly is a BM. Alta Rocks!!!!!
Anonymous | 8:12 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
I'm excited for basketball season. Its going to be all about Davis and Lone Peak. But of course Davis is taking state!
Wow the Des is smart | 8:48 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
Look at all this coverage on High School football and they don't even have to write a thing. Wow the blogging really makes their life easier!

Compared to other states we have 1/3 the coverage of the biggest sport in the country at the High School level.

Well let me say something about some of your posts. Brighton isn't even going to score on Kearns and I hate the Kearns band wagon right now. Alta just got a walk to their Region Championship now only having to really play Jordan. BM lover that thinks he is the best athlete in the state, should rethink posting anything ever again.

Lastly the way the rankings are even being decided are horrible. We're trying to create the BCS for High School Football? Are you kidding me!!!!
Anonymous | 9:57 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
watch out for region 1
Anonymous | 10:45 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
To Wow the Des is smart. Are you kidding me? 1/3 the coverage of other states? It is really the opposite. We get 3X the coverage. The DesNews covered 23 games last weekend? Compare that to any other paper, I dare you. First you rip on the coverage, then you say we take it too far for actually voting on the top 25, make up your mind. The DesNews rocks.
The Des | 11:44 p.m. Sept. 5, 2007
The Des has the best coverage of High school football out of any paper "in UTAH", but I do agree with "wow the des is smart" that the states like Florida, Texas, California, Ohio, and other big Metropolitan states where their are so many teams high school football is played on regular network TV. You would be just as likely to turn on a high school game as you would a D1 NCAA game. So in that aspect the coverage in our state is a little below par, but as far as the The Des goes its the best in the state bar none.
real men | 9:28 a.m. Sept. 6, 2007
serious bingham secondary...they are little..so little, Alta should have jsut thrown the ball up and just out jumped them...they aare two small and will not hit anyone...go diggers
Gunner | 12:50 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
Real Men, Too little? You obviously haven't seen their secondary. By the way, did the diggers win last week? Oh, didn't think so. Enjoy 2 losses in a row after this week.
chuck norris is wrong | 4:55 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
sorry chuck millard might be cool to you little farmer boys but to the rest of us who really know football your nothing but joke so get back to your crop dusting and let the big boys handle this
MillardFan | 5:54 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
Why can't Millard be in the top 25? Just saying they are a smaller school isn't a very good reason. Take wrestling for example. Most years Millard would easily contend for the State Championship in any classification. Other than Wasatch and Delta, Millard would dominate pretty much any other school in the state (most years). Obviously football and wrestling are extremely different, but you can't just say Millard doesn't stand a chance just because they are a smaller school. They work just as hard as any 5A school. Sure they might not be able to beat some of the top teams in 4A or 5A but they would definitely give any 3A team a run for their money. Have you ever seen Hoosiers? In the end you'll never know because they will never get the chance to play those teams..

THE REAL DEAL | 9:43 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
Hey MILLARD, as a part of Bingham...this is the real deal...No one gives a crap about who's at the bottom of the rankings...but if you want to win that #25 spot over then don't lose...until then just please be quiet...do you want to earn the #25 spot? or whine until you get it? ha ha what a joke
Tim | 10:13 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
Davis High has proved many wrong. Highland is the top team out of Idaho and Davis still outplayed them but lost because of some critical bad calls. Go Darts.
I agree | 10:13 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
ha ha ha ha no one cares about the number 25 spot in utah millard...BINGHAM has accomplished 7TH IN THE NATION!!!!!!!!!
info man | 10:27 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
lets see--- layton- best team in the state? so. summit over bingham? and millard has the monopoly on hard work and desire. way to really put some thought into it boys. enough of that, lets take an honest look at bingham jordan matchup. jordan better complete passes cause they wont be picking up much on the ground. cook is a solid QB and raymond is quality. the key for jordan is short and quick. they wont have much time. bingham has a strong rush and some big fast backers. binghams secondary is smaller but fast and disiplined. look out for the blitz. bingham will probably have a big night on the ground. Langi behind that big o line=200 yds +. once jordan commits to the run, look out for play action . maybe a naked bootleg to holt. special teams goes big to bingham. jordan can plan on taking the ball on thier own 20 on every kickoff. binghams return team is scarry. look out for #3 ford on the returns. when bingham gets past mid field they are getting into field goal range. sounds crazy but true. this kid sorensen is amazing. jordan has the talent on thier receiveres and QB but wont have the time. look for the turnover edge to bingham. lets see, defense- bingham. offense-bingham. special teams-bingham. oh yea, coaching,- bingham.(talent is easy to coach). home field advantage goes to bingham also.(jordans field is still not ready) jordan will have to play thier best game to compete. Bingham-37 Jordan-14
darkhorse | 11:06 p.m. Sept. 6, 2007
Millards little win streak will come to an end when they meet Manti tommorrow night. Manti is the dark horse in 2A and should be ranked in the top 25.
