Is it not politically correct to recognize that he was another Islamic Extremist???
How about this motive: The kid was angry and felt society owed him something. After moving to the US, he watched more of our violent movies, and MTV. He had way too much free time.
I was the first to comment, however; It apparently was not politically correct so you eliminated it. Thank, but no thanks. Please leave this in place...
Not PC, very on the target. Doing a closed minded investigation hampered by PC fear is a diservice to society. No one wants to pose the question , Why not a Mosque rather than a Mall filled with local Utah residents?
I really feel for the families and friends who lost loved ones. We don't know why he committed such a terrible crime. I am glad to see that all leads have been followed and that someone is being tried for things that certainly assisted in this tragedy. I find it tacky, though, to use a photograph of Sulejman where he looks downright devilish. At least fix the red eye! I cannot condone what he did, but we don't know why he did it. It is possible there are extenuating circumstances. Forgiveness, while extremely difficult at times, is the only path to healing. He will be held liable for all his actions by God who understands all things. We don't understand, so we might as well get on to the healing part.
What a surprise they don't know why he did it. It doesn't matter. It wouldn't change anything. Get on with your lives. This is NOT news.
Nothing to do with being PC, But by saying it was another case of Islamic extremist would show a lack of knowledge on what islamic extremism is. His relation to being Islam can be more a coincidence then anything else. Dont let ignorance force you to determine motive. These random acts occur too often from various types of people. We need to look at ourselves to find why people commit these acts and not try to blame it on the most conveniant answer.
Islamic extremist?!?!?
When did we start getting out of bed so paranoid and stupid?
(Psst, Congressman [loose] Cannon, that's really you, isn't it? Now, when you read it under someone else's name, you can call it reported and reliable information - right? Brilliant!)
The Muslim population would have you think they are only a peace loving, group and some are. But do not think that is the rule for all. The way Muslims came to be in Bosania is a violent and horrible tale. If you are not Muslim you are an infidel and you are to be converted or not respected as even worthy consideration as human being. Read the teachings of the Koran.
He was not the first or will be the last person to go on a shooting rampage and his religion has nothing to do with it unless you consider the muslims were being slaughtered and the young boy would have been too if not for hiding in the hills. He witnessed more than most Utahns will ever imagine possible in their shallow lives. It is time the media put it to rest as the law is going to do. Let his family heal and show compassion
Larz, you are simply dead wrong. If we were to use your own logic, then just about every religion in the world would also be considered violent extremists. Read the teachings of the Bible.
Must be a slow news day. This isn't news. Who cares. The kid was a nutcake. Move on. Report on some news that means something to me. Like where my tax money is going. Why my kids' teachers have 34 kids in a hot room.
ISt really amazing how in the sixties the word was communist and now its islamic. A motive is important but like it was stated before its not going to help anyone. The longer they drag this out the more pain and press the victims families suffer. One good rule of thumb never trust the media.
