Mac is undoubtedly the best coach in the state.....he is getting grayer and a few more wrinkles, but who cares....his players love him and he loves them! Congrats Ronnie Mac, and have a great year!
Good luck to Jimmy and WS. He is a good QB that does not fit Bama's new system
good luck to jimmy but he was not a top prospect
Good luck Jimmy, hope you like HS ball.
it was not saban it was because he new he would
never get to play he was just not good enough
JB is a pocket passer with a great arm and when he came to Bama I was excited. When XCMS was fired I felt that JB was the odd man out due to the lack of mobility. As for a top 5 prospect, that's a stretch. He was a 3 star out of HS.
If he is really this good why didn't Shula play him? Maybe this is another example of why Shula is no longer at Bama. I saw Barnes "play" at Bama. He is a big kid, looks like a QB, but was very clumsy and awkward. Neither he nor Shula belonged at Bama. Maybe Shula could be the next "coach" at Weber St.
Jimmy was a 3 star on both Rivals and Scout. He may have been top 5 QB in California. I saw him play several times and I was not impressed.
Jimmy always was an exceptional QB & will probably be a coach one day .
From what Ive read, he's not the first or last person to reject Coach Saban's style as assistant coaches have done that also in the past as well.
No big deal though , I wish him well , & transferring qb's are not unusual,as it is an ultra specialized position & there is only one starting qb & one ball. I forget the name , but the qb at UCLA that went to Oregon had great success & others like Mark Gullion that went from Miami to Alabama didnt work out as well.....
No hard feelings for a young man to move to a place he will be happy.
Barnes was a top 25 ranked QB according to Scout I believe, but he was 3 stars...we're not talking Jimmy Clausen or Brodie Croyle here. I wish him luck at Weber St...not sure what got his lips pooched out with Coach Saban, but the reality was that Jimmy was the odd man out in the QB depth chart.
The Wildcats are lucky to have Barnes and I hope they can capitalize on his talent and win the Big Sky Conference.
whoever "Anonymous" is must just be a chicken. Weber State is a quality program even though we've gone through a hard stretch. I am proud to say that I BACK MAC! I'm looking forward to this season! Go Cats Go!!!!!!
