Thank-goodness for the humanitarian efforts of Globus Relief and the LDS Church for always being the first to reach the crisis area. The LDS church is often the first to help throughout the world in any tramatic situation. Our prayers are with those people of Peru. This too they will overcome, with the help of those in the world who care.

I'm a Utah resident who is not an LDS church member. I just wanted to say that I'm very impressed by the dedication to service and helping those in need I see every time there is a disaster. In an era where so many contemporary churches no longer believe in service and focus on the self to the exclusion of caring about community, it is good to see.

I think the title of the article should have said LDS church rushes humanitarian aid to Peruvian quake victims. We all know it wasn't the government. They are still thinking about it.

We are LDS residents of Missouri, presently visiting my mother in Peru. I have just read about the help of Utahns sending donations to Peru in aid to so many people injured and homeless. We are having a difficult time in the organizational area of distributing the goods that arrived to those in need. Please contact us, if we can be of help when the freight arrives in Peru.
Thanks

As members of the church we need to all increase our contribution each month to the humanitarian service and invite non-members to do the same. It is certainly the Christ Like thing to be involved.

I would like to know if the families or people in the disaster zone is really receiving the help, at least from our church. The main reason for why Im asking this is it because on the news on tv they said it is almost imposible to reach the devastated zone. I know the church is always there. But Im concerned about the problems in transportations

GRACIAS! I am from Lima, Peru, and I knew my church will be right there for my people! and also remind me that I need to be more diligent in doing my own survival kit. Please make sure that all the help is delivered to the people who need it.

Let's hope the other churches do likewise. Maybe if they spent less time carping about the LDS church it would help. Talk about faith-based charity... I am never more proud to be a member. This is what it is all about...the least of these. And, I would rather donate voluntarily than have some governmental outfit extract it from me and waste half of the money on administrative expenses.
