In the graphic for this story, the desnews put old fashioned oil derricks. They are actually using drilling rigs which are mounted on trucks. They are the same drilling rigs that are used for drilling for water wells, oil wells etc. I do hold out hope that somehow these miners are still alive, but it has been so long since the collapse, or bump, in the mine. The mine owner needs to accept responsibility for this whole fiasco!

We owe it to these six miners as well as those pictured below to NOT back off from Murray or the mine safety issue in general.

The government today, (like in the early 20th century) is NOT going to ensure that safety and fair wages come our way. In fact, historically, governments and churches in Utah have worked against this by sending in troops or encouraging strikebreaking. The publicly unpopular but locally inevitable solution is an economically painful refusal to work under such conditions followed by force (or the credible threat of it) in the face of strike breaking. This is the ONLY path toward justice. Murray has of course never seen actions like those taken by the men pictured above. Look at the strength in their faces...I think it's time Murray saw the same willingness to do literal battle on the faces of Utah miners.

I haven't given up hope on any of our POW/MIA's that were left behind in Vietnam, and I won't give up on the missing miners. They are all in my thoughts and prayers along with their friends and family members.

God Bless America, God Save The Republic.

I hope Mr. Murray is telling the truth about how safe he has been mining the coal. He keeps insisting that it was an earth quake the caused the cave in,even after all the experts from around the U.S. say the cave was caused the seismic activity.
Also I wish he would let the union in, it is the only way the miners get any say in how things are operated at the mine.
I also hope no one gets deported over this, these are the kind of people we need in our country i.e. hard working family people

Please let the families know that here in Ireland we continue to hope and pray for a happy ending.

My prayers are with the families of these men. What a terrible ordeal to go through. However, we need to be patient and show support over the "long haul." Our modern society relies on quick-fixes and has little patience for things that take time. Unfortunately there is no quick fix for this. Let's not criticize and seek to blame someone for the problems. Let's support. It seems that the mine company is doing all they can. There is only room for so many people to safely work the rescue operation.

To the men awaiting rescue, their families and friends - I hold you in my prayers. I'm from a mining town just like yours in Ontario Canada. My dad was the 'powderman' and safety captain - if he was here following the news he would have said "those boys have 4 things on their side - the old guys that know the ropes, the young guys with energy & smarts, God and their brothers that won't stop till they find them." I pray you hear tapping soon. God bless.

And after a dark and somber night arrives the morning dew to lift our spirits and give us hope.

"Y luego de una noche obscura y sombria una maana llena de rocio para animarnos y darnos esperanza".

Our prayers are with you dear brothers - and with the rescuers. I also pray for Mr. Murray.

My thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone. To the families and to the coal miners God be with you guys. I am from Virginia and have been raised around the coal mines and have many friends that work in them. We had a mines around here to collapse in 1992-93 and it was bad. Not only did we get the prayers and support from our area but from all over and it was a blessing. So we know what it is like and everyone that I know around us is prayng for you guys to be strong and know that God is with you guys. God bless!!!!
