Romney, the plastic candidate. Just say NO to plastic.

He likes the Iraq war a lot, but does not personally think he or his kids should serve. He wants others to the killing and dying.Just like George W.

Saying that he is the Republican version of John Kerry would be giving him more credit than is due.

These comments say a great deal about the writers and NOTHING about the candidate.
Roget | 2:59 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
I dislike Romney. RP is censored on this board.

Jim Cramer from Mad Money is a Romney man, He says hands down he is the best choice if we are to see a healthy secure economy anytime soon. Life long politicians, lawyers, with not very much busines background. just aren't as qualified to address these issues. The Pound now is worth twice what the US dollar is. That's not good! Do you want your kids growing up in a 2nd great depression? That could very easily happen. The average home in Utah is 300 thousand dollars! People are getting more into debt! On top of that we have to worry about Job security and international competition. These issues will greatly affect our childrens and our quality of life!

If you look at the whole man, Romney equals hard work, dedication, loyalty, fiscal knowhow,
organizational ability, charisma, and willingness to serve his country. Could we ask for anything more from a mere mortal?
Robert Douglass | 6:54 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
Go Ron Paul! We know Iowa loves you.
Eugene | 7:15 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
Washington has to change and all of the career politicians on both sides of the political aisle are unwilling or unable to do it. Romney presents a viable option that would place a proven business leader in control. What a unique opportunity for positive change in the country!!

I'd like to know how the media ignore RP when he wins the straw poll today.
Kev | 8:44 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
They won't ignore him, they'll pipe off that he didn't win as big as expected and therefore put a negative spin on it. Don't believe me...just watch CNN tonight. Oh, but then they'll probably be too busy talking about Hillary or Obama.
Ken Baguley | 8:54 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
I've known that Romney has it all...All the talent, looks and communications skills ever postured by any candidate. If people ignore this man it is to our detrement. He is the one to bring us out of political strife and conflict and direct the bright way to uniting this country and resolving conflicts throughout the world. He is the only one with new and intelligent ideas and the only one who can surround himself with the bright ones to bring them to fruition.
Spencer W. Morgan | 11:43 a.m. Aug. 11, 2007
Of course he's confident. He's got the most money to buy people off with free barbecue and bus rides.

What a joke. I am listening to live streaming coverage of the straw poll. From what I'm hearing, the very few Romney people holding signs have "staff" on their T-shirts.

" The voting booth is very democratic, but the shaping of the alternatives is aristocratic; it is work that is done by a few. I've been struck over and over again in my experiences with government and politics, modest as they are, by the Lord's counsel that honest, wise, and good individuals "should be sought for diligently" and that such individuals we should "observe to uphold" (see D&C 98:10). Ponder those words. Seeking out special individuals implies that the special individuals needed may not be those who are first in line as eager volunteers (Neal A. Maxwell, BYU Devitional, October 1976)

Ronmey is the only Republican running for President who can possibly beat a Clinton/Obama ticket. He is a well spoken and extremely intelligent leader who can fix problems. And Lord knows there is a lot to fix right now. Gulliani has too much baggage and Mccain is a discrace. Once Thompson is more heavily scrutinized he too will fade.

Not all LDS in Utah support Mitt Romney. His views are often far off teachings of the Master and prophets in the Bible and the Book of Mormon. The aforemention quote from Elder Maxwell is certainly not an endorsement of Romney. He may win in Iowa, but he is floundering in most of the states or the nation.

Who cares what the pig farmers think. Means absolutely nothing in the big picture. CA, NY and TX are where it matters.

Why is it Libertarians have disproportionate time to be on the net?
Bart | 7:02 p.m. Aug. 11, 2007
Well Romney lovers, don't hold your breath. It's like the Chicago cubs--they'll tease you, give you hope, give something to cheer about now and then, but in the end------well, you know what I mean. He killed himself this week with his statement concerning the boys choice of supporting this country. Lame, if I ever heard lame.
Michael | 7:13 p.m. Aug. 11, 2007
If you don't think the LDS Church is using it's assets to promote Mitt look at the Deseret New and KSL. Now many of you have seen this one. I grew up in Utah. You could tell a person's location by which ward they belonged to. This name is fictitious to make a point. Mr. a dams treated very one in our small neighbor like fecal material. Being a innocent kid, I was forced to attend church. There he would be hand extended, greeting "welcome brother Johnson." How plastic! Mitt is Mr' Adams by two orders of magnitude. It's a no brainer. To make it in the LDS world you must play the game. You learn the prayers. You enduring a couple of BS callings and you sell insurance or Amway. There are members who believe. There are those that play the game.

I learned to lie in Utah. I never felt anything tried to the church. It bored me stiff. I lied. I learned to parrot the articles of faith.

Personal integrity forced me to end the game. I stopped. I wouldn't lie any longer. The reason I'm Mormon is because I was force in to it at seven. Forgive me lord, for I didn't known what I was doing!

Mitt has no integrity. His life is a lie. This is what scares me about Mitt.
tr | 8:50 p.m. Aug. 11, 2007
What a sad story. Michael, YOU scare me.
SLMG | 4:20 a.m. Aug. 12, 2007
I would not vote for Mitt Romney if he were the only one running for president. He has flip flopped on every issue to suit the office he is running for as well as his own religion.
Scott | 5:18 p.m. Aug. 13, 2007
Michael, just because you missed the whole point of being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ does not mean that Mitt has. Don't project your negative experiences onto someone you have never met or talked with.
