It is so sad to see a good man go. He have showed me thru testimonies not just to die for Christ but how to live for Christ, how to share my love with others.
I will miss you President Faust.

The saddness is here when we know that we have lost you for a time. The joy comes when we know that the Lord needs your work on the other side. My heart is sad to know my children will grow up not listening and seeing you speak, but there is peace in knowing that the Lords work goes on through them. God be with you till we meet again, and special prayers to all of your family during this time! With Love~

I learned of Pres. Faust's passing while teaching lessons in the Adult Detention Complex (jail) from one of the inmates. Although not a member, the foreign national expressed his feeling of loss of a "man of God." As I read the account here my heart was full and my tears welled up. He was and is a gift of light, a true disciple of Christ. He is in a better place, full of joy and the gifts of God will forever be his.

I just want to thank the Deseret Morning News for not allowing the trash that has become all too common at that 'other' newspaper.

I was walking through the Avenues one afternoon several years ago and as luck would have it, I shared the sidewalk with Elder Faust for a block or two. He was out walking his dog and we chatted very briefly about what a beautiful day it was to be out for a walk. It was a simple, insignificant meeting, but was memorable in so many ways.

A man of powerful testimony, deep conviction, sincere humility, and Christ-live love--President Faust will deeply be missed. I always looked forward to the power and depth of his testimony. It was obvious that he loved life, all those around him, and especially the Savior. His personal relationship with the Savior was evident every time he spoke. I thank him for his great example. My prayers and condolences to the Faust family. He will be greatly missed.

The Church and the world had lost a great man. His love and humility were unmeasurable, his council and words full of love and understanding. We are saddended by his loss but we know this is just a temporary good bye. We have the Faust family in our prayers.
Love,
The Giulianis

I was priviledged to be in President Faust's ward several years ago. One Sunday between meetings my roommate and I were in the chapel and I heard a very
familiar voice say "I don't believe I know you girls. I'm James E. Faust." We were so dumbstruck I don't think either one of us could remember our names but we shook his hand and he introduced us to his wife. For him to single us out of all the people in the ward was so humbling. I truly felt that it was something the Savior would have done. I will always have a special place in my heart for my "friend" James E. Faust. May the Lord be with Sister Faust and the entire family at this difficult time. We love you.

This is a very sad time but it is a happy time too. Think of what a good missionary Pres. Faust will be on the other side. The lessons he taught us will remain in our hearts forever. We shall miss him and I look forward to meeting him in person someday. I feel that he wants us to be happy because he is in a beautiful and better place!

How do you put into words the feelings you have when someone, whom you've never met, passes on to the next life. This dear, sweet man was a Saint by definition. He could make you laugh, cry, and really stop to think about your life and the choices you make. We will miss him so very much, though we know he's in a place far better than this one. We just regret that we were never able to meet him in person in this life. So, we will plan for the next life. Our thought and prayers go out to his family, friends, and the members of the church who have fallen in love with his radiant smile and spirit. May Heavenly Father bless us all to follow in the footsteps of this great teacher of life and love.

He was a great example of how one should emulate the Savior. He was a man of great spirituality and integrity. Faithful to the end. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. God be thanked that many thousands of God's children had a chance to hear his testimony and feel of his noble spirit in this life.
May the peace and comfort of the Savior be with his family during this time.

I met and shook Pres. Faust's hand in the BYU Museum of Art when the "Christ Healing at the Pool of Bethesda" painting by Heinrich Bloch was unveiled as a recent acquisition. I did not think he was looking at me as his head seemed bend down, but when he shook my hand he said: "I had red hair once." He had seen me; I've got red hair. He cared about people and worked to lift them up as the Savior would do. I have appreciated his messages, especially the recent one on forgiveness and one on persevering when he recounted the story of the "The Little Engine that Could." "I think I can, I think I can."

What a wonderful man he is, and what a sad time for us here, but what joy on the other side of the viel. We always loved to hear him speak and to read his talks. He is a giant of a man and an example to young men. His teaching on forgiveness and honor of family will continue to be taught. we are so sorry for your loss as we know it is felt so deeply and only hope you can feel the love that is sent your way. our prayers are with you.

I have a very tender memory of President Faust. About 20 years ago my then 3 year old daughter eagerly squirmed in her chair during a primary session of stake conference. She was determined to meet one of the Prophet's helpers. Elder Faust came to visit the children before going into meet with the general session. She got up and went to him. Much to my joy he took her little face into his hands and kissed her cheeks and whispered into her ear. The love he showed my daughter will always be imprinted on my mind. He didn't know how sick she was or that she would later die and go home to our Father in Heavenly Father. One of my most peaceful memories is of the both of them sharing a moment together. Thank You Sister Faust for sharing him with the rest of us.

We were at the Idaho Falls airport about 10 years ago. President Faust was leaving to return to Salt Lake and we spotted him in the terminal. All four of our kids shook his hand, and he spoke to each one individually. Our youngest son was about 9 years old at the time. President Faust pulled him close to him and gave him a big hug. This same son is entering the MTC in two weeks. President Faust was a wonderful example to all of us.

I was a little saddened, and yet felt a peace in my heart, at the same time because I know where his spirit now resides and he is actively engaged in the work on the other side of the veil. He has simply moved to the next stage of his eternal existence. My prayers go to his family that they are comforted at this time and may feel the peace of the Lord.

We Thank President Faust for he and his family, for sharing with the world such a wonderful kind gentle man. We meet him once when he put his kind hands on each cheek of our son and told him he was a very choice spirit. We will never forget his last conference talk about forgiveness, how grateful we are to have felt of his spirit, and to know of his witness and testimony of Jesus Christ. Our prayers are with you Sister Faust and your family.
We will miss him greatly.
Love, The Roberts

We are saddened by the passing of this dear, noble servant of God. He touched many lives, and he was an immediate 'favorite' of my husband and myself, both converts to the Church. Even though we have never met him, we feel as though we've lost a dear friend. Thank you, and the Lord bless you, President Faust. We extend our condolences to his loved ones. 'Till we meet again...

We were awed and appreciative of your counsel. We remember with great joy your last conference address on foregiveness: a classic. This address has already had great use in our lessons and in our lives and in the lives of our children.
May the Lord bless your family as they struggle without your immediate love and concern.
