I'm sure other than the fact that he will most assuredly miss his association with his family and friends who are still on this side of the veil, President Faust must be having a great time reuniting with loved ones and other great leaders of the Church who have passed before him. My condolences go to the Faust family for their loss, but my congratulations go as well to know that their loved one passed away a faithful man, and will enjoy the blessings thereof.

We especially enjoyed your talks in General Conference. Your sweet spirit shined through your mortal tabernacle and you spoke as a true apostle of the Lord. What a tremendous loss for the Church and especially the First Presidency. Thank you President Faust for a job so well done. We pray that the Spirit of the Lord will comfort and bless your family.

President Faust has been a personal hero of mine for years, professionally and spiritually. I treasure the gift of his autographed biography. I will forever remember his kind greeting when my wife and I passed him in a hallway at Church headquarters. The Church has lost a giant of a man but his personal influence will linger for years. Thank you for your inspiring life, President Faust.

Dearest Faust Family,

I thank the Lord for the precious spirit we all were blessed with when President Faust became a part of our lives. How deeply loved he was by me and likewise will be missed. May the Comforter bless you with peace during this time of sorrow knowing he stands with the Lord's anointed.
The Brayton Family in TX | 1:22 p.m. Aug. 10, 2007
We have truly been uplifted by this wonderful man. In our quest to be Disciples of Christ, we need only look at our First Presidency for the example. I will never forget the blessing he gave me during his last Conference address concerning Forgiveness. He was speaking directly to me and I kept telling him to stop, but I guess he couldn't hear me. hehe

Our gratitude is directed toward President Foust's survivors, they have sacrificed their time on our behalf and I know they are richly blessed for it. It's amazing that one can grow to love someone we have never met, but we love President Foust and know that he stands before the Savior now and receives love beyond measure.
Mika Tufuga-Valai | 1:23 p.m. Aug. 10, 2007
Every time he spoke, I felt like I was listening to the savior himself. Thank you President Faust for always restoring hope in all of us. God bless your family.

When a great leader and prophet of the Lord passes, we know he is welcomed into the realm of peace--then we are left to try to fill the void in our heart his passing has left. May the Lord bless us all to fill it with a life dedicated to service as advocated by Pres. Faust.

The following text message from our 19 yr old daughter demonstrates his influence on those who have eyes to see and ears to hear and follow a servant of our living God: "President James E Faust passed away early this morning. Take a few minutes today to remember our beloved apostle and his family".

Another wonderful missionary returns home. My thoughts and prayers are with the Faust family at this time. What a blessing it is to know that Families are Forever. I know that the truth of the Gospel will bring the Faust family comfort at this difficult time. Death is not the end.

President Faust is the only apostle I have ever met. Two weeks after I was called to be a Bishop, in the Trona Ward, in Trona Ca. President Faust came to reorganize out Stake. He interviewed me at that time talking like we were old friends. I realized later, that I had had a worthiness interview, without knowing it was happening. I always wanted to conduct interviews like that. Our prayers are certainly with his family at their time of grief.

I loved President Faust. I will always remember how sad he felt about not filling the wood box for his Grandmother Mary. He said: "I feel ashamed of myself and have regretted my omission for all of my life. I hope someday to ask for her forgiveness." I know they have embraced and she has forgiven him. I will miss this great man.

President Faust was a wonderful gracious caring leader, always concerned about people. I recall working with him on a Conference held in Miami, Florida where he presided. He personally asked me for a list of people to thank who put the meeting together. He had a great love for the Latin people who understood their needs. Always praising and kind to bring out the best in people. It seems like yesterday 1978 he become an Apostle and Special Witness for the Lord, his clarion testimony will be greatly missed. The last Single Adult Fireside he gave a remarkable address, down to earth and humble inspite of his mortal weaknesses, he lifted all Spirituallly even when not able to physically to do the lifting.

President Faust will be truly missed here. His teachings and the Love reflected in all that he has done as well as in the music lyrics to the Song "This is the Christ" His testimony has touched so many of us through that song. What a powerful and yet, loving message he has left and shared with us all- I hope to be such a great person as he is. God Bless President James E. Faust.

My father died about 6 weeks ago. President Faust, even though he was very ill, sent a letter of sympathy to our family. We will always cherish the words of comfort he gave us.
He was a great friend and my kids remember eating Jello with him on my parents patio....
He was a wonderful example to me and my children.

Thank you for your life, President Faust. You will be missed. Your words and teachings are an indelible and integral part of all that this Church and its work means to me. I have not known the Church without your leadership. Thank you for always, through your words and example, pointing me to the Savior. I suppose the best way to offer my appreciation is to continue to carry the work of the Church forward in my own little corner of this beautiful world. Adieu.

From the Ogden Utah Whiteds we send our love and appreciation for the life and teachings of President Faust. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and with the family of mankind. What a tremendous loss for all of humanity. The words of the hymn keeping ringing in our ears this day "Come let us Anew" with heavy hearts at his passing. The world should stand still and take notice of this day. God be with you until we meet again President Faust.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the Faust family. Though a sad occasion for all of us, how indescribably joyous must be the reunion on the other side of the veil, and how blessed must he feel as he meets with Him Whom he served so faithfully throughout his life.

Elder Faust married my parents in the Salt Lake temple and his brother Gus Faust was my bishop in the Murray 24th Ward. Pres Faust truely set a Christ-like example of honor, pure faith, and integrity.

I am really suffering his death. He was a wise humble man of God and his words have been a balm for my soul.
Sharon Vasicek | 2:25 p.m. Aug. 10, 2007
Having never met Pres. Faust, why would I feel a deep sense of loss?
Because I won't be hearing him at General Conferences, which I have grown to appreciate these many years he has served. I distinctly remember the resonance of Spirit I felt when he was called to serve as an apostle. I feel comforted there will be voices in his place, but none quite like his. I deeply appreciate his poise, his emotional depth, intelligence, humilty and appropriate judgment. I will review his talks just to continue feeling his particular witness of the Spirit. God is great, God is gracious for it is He who sent us James Faust. To the Fausts, my condolances.
Renee W. F. | 2:28 p.m. Aug. 10, 2007
Having grown up in the Ward and Stake with Pres. Faust as our Stake President we all loved and adored him for his kindness, strong testimony and service. We loved his family. I have often thought that if critics could see the respect and adoration of our church leaders towards their sweet wifes there is no way they could question the important role of women as viewed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and its leadership and by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Pres. Faust revered his dear wife Ruth and loved his family. His love extended to all he came in contact with. What a wonderful surprise when he phoned my work after a hospital stay to thank the leaders and I happened to be the only one available - it was a tender and endearing chat. We will see him again in the hereafter.
