I converted to the church 8 years ago and President Faust has always been of great influence in my life. I will surely miss him.

I have always enjoyed President Faust's talks and articles in the Ensign magazines. His recent message about forgiveness through the story about the Amish school children's tragedy really touched me. He will be truly missed by me and my family and by the members of the Yahata Branch in Japan.

Elder Faust moved in to my ward when I was a teenager in the late '70s. A great inspiration to all the youth. I remember when he and Ruth briefly danced with all the youth at a ward dinner-dance. He tried to make a difference with everyone. He frequently visited the youth classes and quorums on Sunday and helped us feel God. I was grateful to know him.

He was truely called from the Most High, by God himself, and it is a great lose for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A conference talk by President Faust changed my life and every talk he has given since has touched my heart and brought me nearer to the Savior. I am grateful for his life of love and service.

A wonderful person.
Thanks, DMN, for a nice obit rich with factual examples as opposed to characterizations and descriptions.
The quoted exchange between Packer and Faust is priceless - he could be called a great man on the basis of that event alone.

I loved Pres. Faust with all my heart and I will miss his inspiring, wise talks. I learned a lot from his teachings. His life was an example of love for the gospel of our Savior. One of my goals was to see him one day, but his death won't prevent me from seeing him because I know that I will see him again, then I will hug him and say that he was a strong example in my life. I will miss Pres. James.
