"There's little doubt that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will win Saturday's non-binding straw poll here of Iowa Republicans..."

Wow, to make a statement like that without publishing a SINGLE FACT to support it is exactly why the media has the reputation it does. This has got to be the most manipulative article I've ever read! How about polling data, done by your own staff? The RNC data is obviously slanted, so how about referencing some internet polls?

Please, Americans, wake up to this crap and hold these media companies accountable! They are supposed to REPORT the news, not tell us what they want us to do!

Sheesh, some days I wake up and really can't believe the state of affairs in the USA. What bothers me the most is that there are a good number of readers who won't question your propaganda at all. Sad, sad , sad...

Check the Iowa polls. He leads the next closest candidate by 8 or 10 percentage points and appears to be maintaining the lead. Check the Des Moines Register website.

I can't see how any member of the church can vote for Romney. I was a big fan of his in the beginning and even volunteered to work his campaign. My brother-in-law, however, introduced me to Congressman Ron Paul and I have never been the same since. All of you, please, for just 10 minutes, listen to Ron Paul speak and you will note the extreme difference in the level of discourse in which he speaks in relation to any other politcian you've ever seen. Our faith constantly talks about the glory of the constitution and our founders and no candidate reverences it more than Ron Paul. In fact, I have yet to hear Romney even reference it or them once. Ron Paul scarcely speaks without referencing them.

Just check him out for the sake of the future of our country.

Iowa means nothing. Howard Dean anyone? We are so far from any election that all of this means nothing. There are still candidates out there who have yet entered the fold. Fred Thompson, Newt Gingrich, Michael Bloomberg. Good luck Romney--he'll need it.

I know a guy who knows way more about the constitution than Ron Paul. Problem is, no one else knows who he is so he can't be president. Same problem for Ron Paul. Noone knows who he is and he's a waste of time to find out who he is because he doesn't have a prayer. Wake up and start supporting the best candidate we have ever had in anyone in the countries lifetime. Mitt Romney!! Didn't you learn anything from Ross Perot running against Bush and taking 10% of the vote. We got Clinton. By supporting Ron what's his ugly, you risk us having Giuliani (lies to his family-sure as @#$& lies to everyone else) for the Republican nominee instead of an honest man like Romney!

MDB,

The problem remains that your average Joe picks up his morning news paper or throws on the TV and spends about 10 seconds to find out what's going on in the world. My issue with the article is that, while it's based on someone's polling data, it doesn't mention that it's just that - poll data. Who ran the poll, where did the numbers come from and what are the numbers? How did the author come to his/her conclusion.

The article states flat out that it's Romney who's going to "win" the poll. Umm, how could anyone possible know that! It's irresponsible reporting, and the readers should be outraged.

Ron Paul was mentioned in several other comments. Did you know, for instance, that if the straw poll was conducted online Ron Paul would win by a LANDSLIDE. That's because the GNP can't control the content of the internet but they sure can supply poll data that's consumed and reported on in the mainstream press.

Wake up people, you're being duped! Balance the information you get in the press with actual research on the candidates. You WILL be surprised, I guarantee it.
