In this article, Dream Theater has been described as "dark" and "difficult for a casual listener to fathom or appreciate." This is true. But they are musical experts and idols. Keep that in mind if you have the chance to actually LISTEN to Dream Theater, instead of just HEARING them. Rock on, DT!
Dream Theater are an amazing band with sweet concerts, cool music, and impressive visuals. I am not as much into Heavy Metal as I once was but Dream Theater are very unique and not afraid to be different. Every band member in Dream Theater are special musically and I hope that each current member will stick to where they are in the band. I think that the fact that they're international favorites in many countries is awesome! Dream Theater have defied many expectations with the music that they're doing; without compromising with what's popular today. I totally love and respect that. I loved that Mike Portnoy, the drummer, wore a Carlos Boozer jersey during the encore. (Go Jazz!) My dad and I were on the floor, in the 15th row. It was a great time! So glad I got tickets before they sold out. Dream Theater tied with Evanescence in the heaviest rock show I went to in 2007. (Evanescence rocked awesome too!) I think my ears were ringing louder after Dream Theater, though. Saw Rush a week after I saw Dream Theater; (Fantastic!) Even though, Neil Peart is the world's greatest percussionist, Mike Portnoy is millimeters behind him! WOW!!
