Where was the home teacher's companion? The church has a policy whereby home teachers come in pairs to make the visit in the home. Where were the parents of the child? This has nothing to do with the church it has everything to do with trust of an individual with your child, if the trust is not there the child should not be there either. Anytime anyone has access to your child, you should know them personally, trust them explicitly or not allow your child with them. I am a member of the church, but would not allow a young child to be alone with anyone I did not know personally. This can happen anywhere and does, just because it happened with a church member does not mean the church should pay millions of dollars.
