Regardless of what the US government thinks, we are destroying a tool that may prove to have been useful in the future. It was the best. It still is. And to destroy ALL remaining Tomcats is ridiculous.
i think some tomcat's should still fly in the navy reserve's or in the national guard, as back up!
I think they should keep as many as possible.It was politics that destroyed the F-14 Tomcat. The plane is still worthy to keep fliying even in the age of stealth. The F-14 has some of the best weapons in world. What scares me though is that don't have any airplanes to replace them because of budget cuts, down sizeing the military.
