I see that there is a disparity between the way members see themselves and their history as opposed to how society views us and our history. I'm assuming that the purpose of this documentary is to show this disparity.
However, can there be a non-member film-maker that is neutral between the two perceptions? Of course not.
The film maker balances her perceptions (and others with her same view point)with former members who have been excommunicated because of poor conduct. Then the content of concern is focused on highly controversial subjects and time periods to excite the public.
Oh....don't forget...the other perception of members in good standing with the Church and with God. We don't want to forget them. So they will be thrown in to respond to the controversial excitement set forth by offended non-members and angry excommunicated-members.
