Question

I have a quick question, my wife and I attended a sales presentation at the Marriot in Park City. The sales rep said that it is required to file it as a 4000 dollar gift on our income taxes, does anyone know if it is true? Of course at the end, when we didn't buy, he said he would just rip up our application so we didn't have to pay the taxes. I have a sneaky suspiscion that he didn't want a bad review from us rather than giving us a "tax break". My question is that if you attend something time a time share presentation where a gift is included, does it need to go on your taxes?
