I just finished playing Crawford Gates hymns Our Savior's Love and Ring Out Wild Bells. My husband says he loves those two tunes. Where does Bro. Gates live now? Tell him thanks for all the marvelous inspirational music he has composed.
Bro. Gates' original composition (not the current simplified version) of the children's hymn "Baptism" is sensitive and deeply moving. It was one of my favorite hymns as a child growing up in the '70s, and remains so to this day. Thanks so much for this article.
