Comments about ‘Arson blamed in church fire’

It was a tragedy to me to see this building gone. It was standing at the pulpit in the chapel there, that I at age 17, was elevated and turned about to bare my testimony as I received it through the power of the Holy Ghost. I yearned to stand there again as an adult. I am sorry I won't get the opportunity to stand there and thank my God in that sacred spot that it became to me.

I know this is about four years after the fact but I am absolutely sick about this. I just can't comprehend why someone would deliberately desecrate a house of worship, no matter what faith it is. I have many fond memories of this chapel. I attended a couple missionary farewells and several meetings my friends and family invited me to. I was even there when President Hinckley rededicated the chapel in 1998 after the renovation. The stained glass was breathtaking and I seem to recall a mural in the hallway that was a masterpiece of art but I could be wrong. I truly felt a very special spirit in that chapel and this is coming from someone who is not a member of the LDS faith and no one can take that away from me. I came to Springville in 2009 after an absence of nine years and I was just shocked to find that the church was not longer standing. I do hope that the ward members were able to save most if not all the windows and artwork. My prayers go out to all who felt a great loss due to this tragedy.
