I really enjoyed this movie. It was one of those chuckling
movie that kept you smiling all the way through.

Jeff was a little generous on this movie. My wife and I
give it 1 1/2 stars. Predictable and a little contrived,
but OK. This week we saw Fever Pitch, which was much better
for a romantic comedy.

I am sorry to say that I saw this movie. The movie had
some potential, but didn't reach that potential and was
just not very funny. Even though it is not very long, I
found myself hoping it would be over for about the last 20
minutes. It's hard for me to say that this movie was
dragged out considering its running time is not very long,
but it felt long. I would have had a slightly better
impression if it had ended 20 minutes earlier, but I still
was not very impressed. The idea is clever, but not put
to use very well and the original Guess Who's Coming to
Dinner with Sidney Poitier is farrrrrrrr better! (However,
kudos to the film for showing a reverse side of the
original--both films together present both perspectives
regarding issues of race which I think is very admirable).

I think that other people reviewing this movie have mistaken it with some other movie. In fact this is a documentary about an amazing man not some romantic comedy. This could be the greatest documentary of all time. I cried at the end it was so touching and moving.

Arthur Kane's mild-mannered, button-down image in "New York Doll" belies his outrageous younger days.
