Great story! I have some good stories myself. I was hired by Jim Wallace who is the son of Raymond E Wallace who designed the Columbia for Walt Disney. I am a finish carpenter of 20 years now but at that time I was a three year apprentice working for a master carpenter and had just went out on my own. Living in So. California 20 min. from the park our family went about four times a year so I was very familiar with the park and in school written biographies on Walt. My wife, our daughter Kacey and I went to the park one day and saw all of the workers on the Columbia and the Mark Twain. That started it! About a hundred calls later I set up a meeting with Jim Wallace, the contractor on site. He hired me to do the handrails and staircases on the Mark Twain and many other tasks on both ships. The greatest job Ive ever had hands down. I will write you back and tell you some funny stories if you like. John
