I don't know where you got the idea that Utahns tacitly approvee of illegals but you are extremely wrong. They hurt our economy, health care, welfare system, retirement programs, and yes, most of them are good workers but at whose expense? the Citizens.

John

If you have been to Mexico, you might be a little more receptive to position of the illegals in our economy. Obviously it is a problem, but one that should be looked at from ALL angles.

What bothers me the most is the fact that these people come to Utah illegally and then want to be rewarded. Free medical on my dime, free education for the few that go. No real desire to learn english and a good percentage are gang related. Just follow the news. I am 70 years old and tired of Tony Yapias and his big mouth. Show me something positive like turning in people you know are commiting criminal offenses and I may have a more open mind. Until then, Come in legally like the rest of the world has to. Hispanics have no special exemptions.

Am I missing something? Maybe I don't really know the meaning of the word ILLEGAL. Is it ok for me to steal my neighbor's car if I'm tired of taking the bus? Sure the quality of life in Mexico doesn't rate too high and it's no fun....but neither's taking the bus, but I don't have the right to steal a car.......they punish people for that.....it's against the law!
Would you understand your police department telling you it's ok that I stole your car?
Since when do WE LEGAL CITIZENS have the right to pick which laws WE want to obey?
I am a white man who is married to a Mexican-American lady, and we live in Texas. She agrees with me, as do my inlaws......they also believe in following the laws of the U.S.
