My husband had CABG on 10/29/07 and he was on heart/lung bypass mach.
He has memory loss, all of his food is tasteless, or taste like pepper. He has the shakes or tremors constantly and is always cold. His breathing is labored and he gives out on exertion. We are really hoping these things will get better soon.
My husband had CABG surgery a week ago.His voice is different, it sounds weaker to me. Is this the result of the heart/lung macheine or that his lungs are not yet back to their original strength?
my dad had open double bypass surgery 5days ago and he still did not wake up.He does have slight movement in his shoulders. He also moves his mouth.there was 2 catscans done and he had a brain wave test, there were no sighns of a stroke. The dr said there was swelling in the brain but it went down with medaction. Everything else is normal or stable.Idont know what to think at this point. He is in gods hands.please respond asap!!
My Aunt had a tripe bypass surgery three weeks ago and she seems to recover very well. She is over 60 and is doin better than before. I dont believe that she has changed pschologically but rather physically and Im proud of her and the medical team that made it possible for her to continue living by surgically saving her life. I show my gratitude to all surgeons.
husband had open heart surgery 15 days ago,is complaining with bottom of feet hurting very badly,
feet and legs are still swelled, should we be concerned?
All food tasteless...After 5 day voice is still very weak... Is seeing objects that do not exist
I had bypass surgery 16 months ago and still hear things that are not there such as my cat meowing, doorbells, telephone, etc. I still have no energy to speak of, forget things easily or so my husband says, don't concentrate as well, don't like the same things to eat or do as before. Is this normal?
All of this is very aggravating to both of us. And I was not put on cardiac rehab. My cardilogist said it was not medically necessary so the insurance would not pay.
I had an open heart surgery for HCM 6 months ago and my brain is not functioning properly, I have a hard time concentrating, speaking and worst of all, remembering, I went to a neurologyst and we are going to do a series of tests to find out what is my problem, but I believe to be related with the surgery, a week after the surgery I had the ferbulation(guess that's how you spell) and had to go to another hospital(closer one) I lost my memory for a few hours while I was there, I didn't remember that I had the surgery, I cried and asked everybody what I was doing there and what was that cut on my chest. Is this normal?

i had a five bypass open heart surgery april of 08. I exercised and watched my diet and 10 months later had 4 arterys blocked again. exactly 1 year after my first surgery I had to have all five done again. I have extreme pain in my left chest all the time. I have a lot more trouble exercising due to pain in my chest and breathing. i am also a diabetic and have been having trouble with my blood sugar levels which makes my drs think the levels are playing havoc with my heart. Am trying everything to stay healthy

My dad has triple bypass on 11/1/09 and still has not come out of it. He mummbles and moans, cries out and has little or no control over his body. the doctors have done a cat scan and an eeg, both looked fine. He is an avid drinker and the doctors are telling us that what we are seeing is related to detox of his body. this explanation isnt quite good enough as it has been several days since open heart. Is there another explaination...anything we can do for him?
