Our family has not gone to the doctor with the symptoms that you describe as Pertussis. Five of our grandchildren have contacted this disease and my husband and I developed it after being around them while on vacation in Kentucky with them on their farm. None of them have gone to a physician. Their mom is treating them at home. One of the them coughed so much that his eyes became bloodshot (burst a blood vessel). He also coughed till he threw up on several occasions.
You can add at least 7 more to the number for November of 2008. This cough is terrible. This is about the 3rd week that I have personally been coughing with it. I use a lot of garlic (6 of 1000mg each day). Two garlic capsules at each meal.
Hope this is helpful to others. We have found nothing that helps the cough go away at all.
