Burger King made a big mistake. The customers should have sued them, what the employee did was totally illegal. According to Utah law, a woman can breastfeed or use a pump in any public place, and her breasts don't have to be covered. This woman wasn't exposing herself.
Are we so sexually repressed here in Utah that just knowing that a woman's breast has been taken out of her bra, even when she is completely covered by a blanket, shawl or other piece of clothing, is considered "gross?" Breasts are for feeding babies. Other uses are secondary.
And to defend breastfeeding by saying it is better than formula feeding is ridiculous. If a woman chooses to breastfeed, she should not be required to bottle feed to satisfy other's needs for false decency when in a public place. An exclusively breastfed baby may not be willing or able to take an occasional bottle, anyway.
I realize that this story is a few years old, but as I've been going through this now myself with a newborn, I came accross the article and wanted to comment.
