I think this is good. Let's see what the rookie can do. He may surprise Jerry. I am sure we will see AK at the point too.

Jazz 2-6

Hope all is well with DWill.

I was pretty please about Deron gutting it out against boston. But give me a break, if hes not playing cause his back is a little sore than man up and get over it. I usually give Deron a pass for little stuff cause he is the only player with a competitive bone in his body. But toughness starts with the team leaders Deron. But if the personal reason is some sort of thing more important than Bball than I support him 100%.

Maybe he is sick of losing. The look on his face the last few games has been the look of "Get me outta here."

Whatever it is, good luck DWill.

Dang it!
Torrey Ellis | 9:00 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Are we sure D. Will is even his real name.
Brett | 9:01 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Hang in there D Will. We Love you.
Great! | 9:03 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Just what the Jazz needed. Another reason for fans not to watch them play. I wonder if he just got sick and tired of playing with losers and had to get away from it all. On a serious note, I hope everything is alright with him, and it's nothing too serious (whether it be personal or family reasons).
Wowsers | 9:04 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I really underestimated Sloan. When he said he was going to toy with the starting lineup I didn't think he would take it this far.
Mo | 9:09 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Well, something must be up because it's not like Deron to take off like that. Plus he's probably frustrated as heck since he's the only one playing with guts and heart, and he's not getting much help.
Spff | 9:17 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Just another chapter in the mess that call themselves the Utah Jazz.

Things look very bleak for the Jazz. D-Will is the heart and soul of this team, if he is done mentally it will be messy.

Hope all will be well with him and his reasons.

In related news the Jazz lose to the 76ers tonight... stay tuned for the final score.

jazz mgt need to  | 9:44 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
giveoff their collective and shake things up.....this chemistry is not jelling and you can't just DO NOTHING LIKE OBAMA....you have to move...get on the phone...trade Boozer to whoever, send AK packing or ask him to take a pay cut, but get us some players who play for the love of the game...even if they lose it would be better than watching these guys lose and fight each other every nite!
Nancis | 9:46 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Deron - Good luck with whatever is going on. We and the Jazz will sure miss you in this game. Hope it is only this one!! You're the glue that holds the team together right now!!
John Wicks | 9:46 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
D Will get back to work. Your only hurting the team and the clubhouse. I would never guess you would quit on your team. You are our leader. Now is when we need you most!!!
Personal reasons? | 9:47 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
This is the worst kept secret in SLC. DWill needs to get his house in order and then maybe he can get back to concentrating on basketball.
Get used to it... | 9:48 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
If the Jazz keep up this mediocrity or worse, D-Will won't just be leaving temporarily. When a player with talent who has a huge desire to win and isn't just about the money is with a team that seems to have no desire to change, they bolt for a team that with actual promise. After their trip to the West Finals a few years ago, I was excited because it was a very young team that showed a lot of heart and promise. I thought, "give them 2 or 3 more years of growth and experience and the Jazz will be a dominate force in the NBA." Well, 2 or 3 years later and they are one of the biggest messes in the NBA. Unless REAL changes are made soon, D-Will won't be around much longer.
maybe... | 9:50 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
just maybe, everyone else will leave the team and the Jazz will have to bring back Bryon Russell and Greg Ostertag!

cross your fingers everyone

Has any one else been a Jazz fan their whole life and are tired of being let down every year?
Chris Paul | 9:53 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Maybe we should trade hime for the best point guard in the world! And trade Jerry/Very Slown for Byron Scott who is now available!
Prime Suspect | 9:56 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Williams not playing tonight? this is the only game I can attend all year
Jazz | 9:58 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
2 - 7
UtahFan | 10:12 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Doesn't this sound like D will is leaving for good?? Or trying to leave for good??
Kev | 10:23 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I don't blame D.Will for being frustrated. The Jazz may be fortunate to finish the season at .500 or more at best, and the west is too good to move deep into the playoffs. The time is now to make a Boozer trade. They will not get equal value, but it saves the Jazz money and will be for the good of the team and its chemistry. With two good picks next year in the draft, the Jazz can give Williams some badly needed help.
Judgement? | 10:26 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Geez, some of you self-righteous "Jazz fans" should wait until the real reason comes out before you throw DW under the bus. I hope everything is ok and the Jazz certainly will miss him.
DWillillini | 10:29 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Please clarify "get his house in order"...
Jerk | 10:31 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I've got your personal reason right here:

#1 - Williams wants to have two lottery picks next season rather than one so, having dispatched the Nicks, he's taking some well deserved time off.

#2 - Williams is tired of being the only member of the team that plays defense so, having dispatched the Nicks, he's taking some well deserved time off.

#3 - Williams actually does have a personal issue so, in light of #1 and #2 above and having dispatched the nicks, he's taking some well deserved time off.

#4 - Williams is kind of injured anyway so, having dispatched the nicks, he's taking some well deserved time off.

If Boozer can do it and hurt the team, why can't Williams do it to help the team (in future seasons)?

Our prayers are will DWill, too. I don't want the Jazz to lose another promising point guard. First Derek Fisher, now him? Good luck DWill. Come back soon.

Let's see- find 12 players who will play for the love of the game. I'm guessing you can find them at the Millcreek 12th Ward or the YMCA. Many pros may love the game, but I haven't heard of any playing for free.
Sneaky Jimmy | 10:38 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The beginning of the end. Is his personal reason that he is sick of his team and the fact that managment puts up with Boozer?
Ben  | 10:39 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Can you say "Baaaaaaaaaaaaby"?
santa | 10:40 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The rookie point will prove he belongs and the Jazz will win tonight.
shocked | 10:40 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I love how everyone is calling him a quitter and calling him out when they have no idea what is going on. They give jazz fans a bad name. Just like what happened to Derek Fisher when fans booed him on his return to salt lake after he left to give treatment to his daughter with cancer. Its disgusting. Do you think any player wants to play for an organization where their fans do this to them? I am ashamed to be a part of a group that does that. Good luck D Will. Get done what needs getting done and hurry back.
Mike | 10:40 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Probably didn't want to participate in another losing effort. Hope whatever personal reasons he's away aren't too serious.

Oh man, stop, please. I haven't laughed this hard in a long time.
Claudia | 10:50 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I certaienly hope that D-Will is not fed up with the team--or there effort. Okur, Ak47 and Millsap are all we have at the best. Boozer can't even catch the ball.
Who would want Boozer on there team--can't give him away considering his salary.

Maybe we will get 2 first round picks this year if things continue to slide.
re: Personal reasons? | 10:56 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
"This is the worst kept secret in SLC. DWill needs to get his house in order and then maybe he can get back to concentrating on basketball."

What is the secret? What is going on in Deron's life that is causing his house to be out of order?
Settle Down | 10:58 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Hey Jazz fans need to settle down. Nothing is "doomed." D-Will is not "abandoning" anybody. It's a long season. We are a small market and not many big names in the NBA seek a home in Utah. . . let's face the facts and make the best of what we've got. We have a talented team and I think we could go a long way. Look at it this way, the past few years the Jazz start off on fire and at the end of the season they have a break down. Maybe this year we get the break down out of the way and finish strong.
Anonymous | 10:59 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The W in Williams stands for Win. No Williams tonight means no W for the Jazz.... Hurry back soon D WIll. We need you
Hey "shocked"... | 11:17 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Derek Fisher moved FURTHER away from his daughter with cancer and just HAPPENED to sign with the Lakers a day or so after leaving the Jazz. Coincidence? Only if you're stupid would you think that. Good riddance to him, and his lies.
Sokol | 11:17 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
The Utah Charmin Matadors kind of catchy...Get on it Millers
Um.... | 11:39 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
Does anyone read these articles? Rigby said it was a family issue! He's not tired of the team. It's not his back. If it was his back hurting him, the team is required to state he is missing the game on account of injury.

And I don't care what anyone says, family comes first, regardless of anything else! Shame on anyone that says otherwise!

*steps off soap box and returns to his Sam's Club hot dog...
TC | 11:41 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
And benching AK? Seems like there are several other candidates who deserve being benched more, like the lazy, soft big guys who can't defend their mother-in-laws. In fact, AK is the only guy who seems to be trying out there, at least part of the time, because the whole team has looked pretty pathetic so far this year, even DWill has given up during portions of games.

As bad as it seems, it keeps getting worse. It time for Jerry to say vaya con dios, sayonara, arrivederci, and go out with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, singing Happy Trails to You, and get back to the farm with the Clampetts.
Awsomeron | 11:48 a.m. Nov. 13, 2009
I hope he gets his family issues under control. Lets be nice because we do not know what it is about.

Basketball is not the end all and be all of the World its not even in the Top 100. I watch maybe one or two cames a year. The best time for me is when the season is finally over.

I have nothing against Basketball. I just do not think it has much value. Mostly Basketball gets some poor kids through school.

It also has value as a cheap exercise. Modbidly Obese People should play more Basketball. At least walk up and down the Court.

It is good to see an undrafted player make the Team. That is so hard to do. You have to get through Stars, Jerneymen, No Cut Contracts, and Draft Choices and Trades. The hope is a trip to the CBA, or D League, or a series of 10 day Contracts.

If team management lets a player leave then it for good reason. Basketball is Employment Not Slavery.

Even a Mormon on a Mission has the option of coming home under certain conditions, and still be cretited with serving an Honorable Mission.
