Can the writers not think of anything else to write about. You want to make a living by just continuing to pile up on this young person? More serious than the punch - are you kidding? Is it more serious than the flagrant face mask which can cause serious injury (the penalty for that one is 15 yards and a first down)? More serious than coming into a base with the spikes high? She crossed the line and was punished, rightfully so, and is serving her punishment. Many of us have crossed a line, but it's too easy, and for some, too much fun, to continue to pile up on someone else. Find a new story, this one's getting old. To me, too many in the media are having too much fun and getting a column, report or whatever completed which has no real value or news while hurting another? Many in the media use the excuse that it's their job to report the news and give a perspective. This isn't news anymore; and the perspectives have been exhausted. It's simply, to me, sensationalism and abuse.

LAMBERT should have TOTALLY have thought through it before she did what she did.

For me it would be idiotic for espn gameday to miss the tcu,utah game cause it is gonna be a good game even for a BYU fan.

How you could even begin to argue that Lamberts actions were more serious than Blounts is beyond me. She did some hair pulling and scuffling--aided and abetted by coaxing from some pretty streetwise cougarettes. He went after fans in the stands and almost needed a net thrown over him to get him out of the stadium. Don't get caught up in the media frenzy Scotty.

I think the Lambert deal was more serious than the OU Player's actions. Her actions were continuous for a long period of time. She demonstrated that she had some sort of personal issue with the other players on the field. To her it seemed to be a lot more than soccor. I can understand "loosing it" for a moment in the high intensity moments of sports but, to "loose it" for an entire game and get away with it is completely unacceptible.

I'm with you, Scott, on this ESPN thing. For the longest time, ESPN ignored the MWC as much as it could. It was rare when a clip or score was shown on SportsCenter. Now, in less than a full season, they will be doing GameDay from a MWC school. It is more than obvious that they are kissing up for something. Probably so they can interfere with the conference to marginalize the conference or bring the conference back into the fold. I, personally, thought that arranging the BYU-Oklahoma game was an attempt to shut the conference up by having Oklahoma blow the doors off BYU, but the plan backfired. I guess that the MWC is the "elephant in the room" of college football. The MWC is getting pretty hard to ignore, anymore.

BYU, Utah, TCU, UNLV, and San Diego State should move to the WAC where they kick out San Jose State, New Mexico State, Utah State, Louisiana Tech and Hawaii.

That give your conference BYU, Utah, TCU and Boise State as the powerhouses. And NO you do not want 9 even schools - look at the ACC they have multiple of even schools and they never have an undefeated school.

Utah and BYU in state rivals
Idaho and Boise State are both in on state.
Nevada and UNLV (Basketball School) are both in-state rivals,
San Diego State and Fresno State are in state rivals
You have TCU (Texas) and San Diego State and Fresno State (CA) for Recruiting

Hawaii and Louisiana State are too far to travel

Air Force is sad to loose and is a better school than Nevada, Fresno State, San Diego but Like I said you really only need 4 top teams.

Finally, Your Conference is ON ESPN. KJZZ will once again be picking up all the local games.

It's cute that the TV reporter wants to write about sports. He needs to stop the BCS whine though. When he makes the comment that nobody outside of Idaho thought that GameDay would come to the Boise-Idaho game he is showing the double standard. How he feels about Idaho is how the nation feels about the MWC. Is there a difference I'm missing?

I have a better idea: MWC should add Boise State. That would make 10 schools. Split the conference into 2 divisions, have a tournament championship, and allow 1 more non-conf game (provided that it is a D1 FBS whatever school). Divisions could be divided into the west and east. East division would have Wyoming, CSU, Air Force, TCU, New Mexico. West division would have BYU, Utah, Boise State, UNLV, and San Diego St. TCU would probably dominate the east and BYU, Utah, and Boise would slug out the west. BYU or Utah could switch with New Mexico to even out the divisions but they would still play each other in the rivalry. The conference would get stronger, have another game, and maybe they could marginalize the .mtn and get a contract with ESPN or Fox Sports for the bigger games.

You can't be serious. BYU, Utah, TCU, UNLV and SDSU would never join the WAC. Why quit on somehting as special and big as the Mountain West is getting? If anything BSU and Nevada should just join the Mountain West. So we can all stop hearing BSU fans crying about how they don't get enough respect because their conferance is garbage.

Her actions were not continuous and not for a long time. If you add up all the footage, I don't think you'd have one half of a minute. If there were more, the way ESPN was trying to focus on her "wrongdoings" instead of following the play, you better be sure you would have seen more - if there were more. Also, if you watch, though her actions were wrong, she remained focused on the game and the ball, not on individuals she had these infractions with. Way to paint a one-sided story ESPN. What was your intention? Wanted more than the sport, itself?

It was a sad day when KSL lost the rights to televise games. Did their homework on both teams. Focused on the game from start to finish. We were spoiled...

Let the mountain do their own content on the weekdays and let the locals(KSL) broadcast the games not picked up by the networks.

Why would 5 teams that left the WAC want to move back. The MWC is way superior than the WAC in all sports and academics.

Maybe Boise St. should learn to be more than just a one trick pony and they would be able to move out of the WAC.

I don't think this GameDay stuff has anything to do with the MWC. This is about TCU, who is ranked #4 and on the verge of busting the BCS. The same could be said for the BYU/TCU GameDay broadcast. As for the AFA/ARMY game broadcast, that is a big deal because it is an armed forces game. That had nothing to do with the fact that AFA is in the MWC. As for the MWC, ESPN and the Nation, still looks down on the MWC, which is basically a 3 team conference.

ESPN has tried hard not to acknowledge the MWC.
(BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO RIGHTS TO TELEVISE MWC GAMES), but it has proved to be too painful to ignore given that three teams here are on par with FL, ALA, LSU in the EAST!!

IRRESPECTIVE..THEY WILL STILL SHOW A LACK OF RESPECT, BECAUSE ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

Air Force needs to leave the MWC, it is embarrassing that a school with such high standards is associated with the rest of the schools in the Mountain West. There is no way AFA would go back to the WAC, which is even more disgraceful academically then the pathetic MWC.

Why is only the player getting all of the bad publicity. How do the MWC Soccer refs not get suspended for this game. Did they give the girl a red card anyone??? the answer is no. You mean to tell me that they did not catch one of these flagrant fouls??? I think the hole crew should be suspended for that game!

If so, sorry if we missed your poor humor attempt; or were you indicating that we should not think or talk about anything else on Friday, because there is a 'huge' game on Saturday? My suggestion to you is - become aware that many things of importance and interest are going on all around you, in addition to the under-dog Utes playing against the favored Frogs.

I think ESPN has noticed the MWC with 4 trips of ESPN Game Day to MWC country. ESPN knows what sells and brings in adverstising dollars. They did not show up to MWC country to be nice. Spin it anyway you like, but with TCU, BYU, Utah and AFA all on ESPN gameday this has focused alot of attention to the MWC. As shown earlier this week about conference strength, MWC is better than ACC and equal to the Big Easy.

Great article though even if it included womens soccer.

Probably if Lambert had stuck to doing only the usual types of physical contact fouls committed in soccor then she wouldn't have made the news. What caused the big stir was the ponytail throw down she did. She could have given the other girl a concusion and caused a very serious neck injury, for example whiplash, broken vertebrae, and spinal cord damage resulting in paralysis.

What she did was way beyond the normal type of contact. The cameras caught it and now she's paying the price. If the media wants to continue reporting on it or if Letterman wants to keep milking it then that's ok with me. If I were her coach she'd be off the team.

The game day tour is following TCU. You can't even count Air Force! There is no way that game is the game of the week, but because of Veterans Day they had it there. You can't tell me it was supposed to be a better game than LSU vs. Alabama! Quit thinking you are the best thing in the country MWC because you aren't and you never will be. TCU is your only hope for the season!

To AF Fan: Check the facts bud. BYU average ACT scores are higher than AFA. GRE scores too. And, no matter how much I despise some Ute fans, they also have a great institution. I'm familiar with their med program and their isn't much better in the world. AFA is a fine institution, but there are others that are good too. Get over yourself.

You have got to be kidding. Lamberts actions were worse than Blounts? Did you not see the replay as many times as I did? Blount sucker punched a player and then went on a tirade and tried to go after fans. This idiot should still be suspended. Lambert got more air time because she is a woman and, women are generally more prudent than men. Lambert deserves a second chance. Blounts second chance should occur in the NFL if anyone wants to take a chance. He should not be allowed to play again this season.

This shows how much (very little) you know about Boise St. Before you shoot your mouth off (filthy Yewt) get the facts. Boise St can stand on its own two feet without comparison to Utah schools. Oh and by the way, I live in Utah, I'm not LDS, and I would rather be the hypothetical "cousin" of BYU rather than the U any day of the week (little brother syndrome is VERY real at the U).

Ok first of all, TCU is the better team out of the four. BYU is only average this year, Utah is worse, and Boise State only has to really show up one game a year so it is hard to tell how good they are or could be.
Second, for those commenting on Blout and Lambert, it doesn't look like you have ever played a competetive game of any kind. The reason why Lamberts actions were worse is because her violent actions were throughout the whole game while Blout blew it at the very end of the game.
Blout had been egged on the whole game by Boise State and his frustration ran over and he went crazy. Lambert did everything she did on purpose with very little egging during the game that does not usually happen in sports. Her actions were made basically with a clear head and she still did what she did. Unless of course she was out of control the whole game, which is worse than what Blout did.
It seems that a lot of peoople just have a hard time seeing women do some of the things she did and are defending her.

Just wondering where you get your information from? AFA ranks #16 in the country and BYU ranks #249. Both SAT and ACT scores are higher for the AFA. Also has one of the lowest acceptance rates in the country. Not to mention an overall population of 4,000 cadets. I like how BYU/Utah tries to compare themselves to the Academy, but there is no comparison. Both of those schools are more comparable to Boise State or University of Idaho..

ESPN loves TCU! TCU is the best non-BSC conference team ever. This years TCU team would beat any BYU or Utah team of any year. TCU is that good. TCU has more future NFL's than just about any team in the country.

And if TCU was given the chance (which will never happen) to play in the Mythical National Championship game (which is bogus) they would win

Are you joking?? I want to know what messed up rationale would bring her to say such a moronic thing. The only reason why every child and grandmother in China may not know her yet is because she plays women's college soccer. Imagine if she was a male football player. All it took was a poorly placed rabbit hook to get LeGarrette Blount suspended for the rest of the season (we know he was allowed to return on good behavior) and as a result he made the front page of every paper in the nation.
