REF: The non BCS Standard
I couldn't agree with you more....but you have just opened the door for every utey misfit in the state and outside the state to take a shot at your comments.....(LOL)...better keep your pencil sharpened and have some free time set aside...because you will definitely be called out on this.....and you might get a few Buckeye and USC fanatics too.

You are spot on Mr. Harmon. Can you imagine if NCAA basketball was set up like the BCS? There would be a series of playoffs between the elites and mid majors like Memphis and Gonzaga would be looking from the outside in hoping to make it in with some incredible record. The BCS is a joke.

BCS is a likely illegal, definitely un-American and anti-competitive monopoly created solely to elbow out MWC,C-USA, WAC etc. schools from the post season feed trough. The networks collaborated in the original creation, so the press has even dragged their feet in exposing this crap and getting it addressed. Don't look for BCS fat cats to "be more inclusive". Adding only a MWC team on recent hot streak or expanding BCS conferences including more currently hot non-BCS teams would be a sell out and travesty. Get all conferences an opportunity or kill the BCS in court. Utah is just the recent example. This has been going on since Tulane went undefeated. Bring on the "Kill the BCS Legislation" or Class Action Federal Lawsuit - critical and long overdue! Go Hatch!!

It is rather ironic that we are asking a body of people who can't make decent regulation of themselves reality to interfere with something that government should not be involved with. Why are we interested in wasting so much taxpayer money?

What are you talking about? Most of us are talking about the right for ALL NCAA teams to have a shot at a N.C., you seem to be spewing BYU hate speach. I'm sorry you seem to have missed the point but you might want to think about the SUBJECT, then speak. No one here is refuting Utah's great 2004, 2008 seasons infact the biggest reason for this battle is BSU and U of U beating OU and 'Bama. They should have been allowed to play for a N.C., but some subject matter is lost on immaturity.

All you who are congratulating Hatch you might want to go back and read the constitution. He has no authority to do so. Although congress believes that they have the right under the interstate commerce clause to regulate EVERYTHING, THEY DON"T!!!!! The NCAA needs to quit being stupid and fix the system NOT the US Congress because it isn't their job. They should be focusing on their enumerated powers that the constitution acaully gives them. STICK TO THOSE!

The NCAA needs to step up and admit the pairity that exists in college football today, and act accordingly!

This is dumb. A non-BCS conference is guaranteed one of the BCS spots. Since the MWC and the WAC are the top two non-BCS conferences (Boise, Hawaii and Utah are the 3 teams to play in the BCS games since a spot is guaranteed to a non-BCS school going 2 and 1) The conference should have a MWC/WAC championship game the conference champions of each team play the first week of December. Even if a MWC or WAC team has a lose they win their conference and wins the games against the other conference - they will be in the BCS. Ball State can go undefeated and the MWC/WAC winner would still go. Then you give your conferences BCS money 75% to the winner and 25% to the loser. That way the best school in the Mid Major goes to the BCS and the both conferences gets automatic money.

Boise State would have beaten BYU
BYU would have beaten Hawaii
Utah would have beaten Boise State

THERE IS A SPOT GUARANTEED TO THE NON BCS SCHOOLS.

THE BCS IS A PRIVATE ENTERPRISE - THEY ARE NOT A MONOPOLY.
